Ahh, unlucky mate. Turns out trans healthcare is still the scientifically and morally correct thing to do. I assume you'll be apologising now?

Not sure why you thought the last 5 years would be different to the nearly 100 before that but ok

The reduction of politics to voting is part of the 50 year neoliberal project whose foremost goal is to make you think of yourself as an atomized individual and not as a member of a polity.

If you've ever wondered why your vote seems to accomplish so little, I think you can blame the near-abolition of small p politics by Big P politicians of every stripe.

There's a moment early on that's just footage of Elon Musk balding and in khakis walking down an office hallway in the late 90s and the entire audience burst out laughing. If Musk is made aware of audience reactions like this I think he might actually crash out.

Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.

Basic income’s appeal today is similar to its roots in 18th-century England – it’s a way to compensate people for a common good taken for private gain
Today’s basic income proponents say cash payments would be good for everyone. In the 1790s, the idea’s inventor argued something else: It was owed to everyone.

Tommo was only arrested because the dingy had some French coastguard guy on it, if there had been migrants on there they probably wouldn’t have bothered

A "vigilante action" is just a violent crime you agree with.
Evan Davis on PM asked if ‘Danny Tommo’ “had any kind of point” by puncturing a dinghy with a knife because “the [authorities] should be doing that themselves”.

He went on to describe it as “vigilante action”.

Not a dicky bird about thugs trying to sink a dinghy with a rescue worker on board or their claims to be "forming an army". Two boats of people seeking safety land and bingo bango they're the ones portrayed as the issue. Labour is complict in the rise of the far right.

(1)A sign Burnham's "counter Russian disinformation" plan is bad -the "2019 general election interference " was a leak/hack of US-UK trade talks showing parts of the NHS would be sacrificed to get US trade. it is incredibly fucked up that the UK government and police consider it a much worse crime to wear a t-shirt or wave a placard with 'palestine action' on it than to block ports and attack lifeboats
