Do people know this? There's such a pervasive obsession in this country with how great the stock market is doing; I wonder how many people would be shocked to learn that the US stock market is being badly outperformed by the rest of the world, and that's a new thing since January 2025.

2026 shaping up the same (9% vs 15% so far).

This is a great example of why Jeffries is not the man for the moment, and a bad choice to be Speaker. Instead of hitting the unity notes that Dems are doing well in Michigan and Wisconsin, he’s obsessing about local NYC politics because he’s afraid of losing power and it’s hurting Dems nationally.
