you are not in a moment of equal consideration
you are not in a moment where you life is equally valued
you are not in a moment where facts, truth, and data is prioritized

AI data centers can change a community long before anyone realizes what’s coming.

Today, I spoke before the Brewster County Commissioners Court about what Texans are already seeing elsewhere: pollution, constant noise, rising housing costs, and the loss of our dark Texas skies.

It's rad that Meta used a David Bowie song to advertise their AI and it's about how there are only five years before the apocalypse and they surely had no idea because these tech assholes have literally zero comprehension skills.

Got to hand it to them. Dumbest bunch of motherfuckers alive.

"AI crusader and MAGA ally Elon Musk is currently being accused of funding a fake voter registration website that is designed to steal and sell people’s data to third-party businesses, and, well — yeah, that sounds about right."
Vote Safe Website Is A Scheme Todd Set Up. Don’t Fall For It [Op-Ed]
OPINION: The site claims to help voters navigate the election process ahead of the November 3 midterm election, but it's actually a data-mining operation that isn't registering people to vote at all.

Furious. The show Furious comes to mind right now.
We spoke to several women, now adults, after finding images of their abuse on X. One said the abuse was like a rock tossed into a pond, and the spread of the images are ripples that continue to disrupt her life. Here is how another woman described X's role:

We don’t talk enough about how much of our days have become entangled in determining what’s real. What’s genuine. What’s human or what’s synthetic. What’s worth our time after having already spent it. It’s a grotesque skill we’ve all been forced to master, and a waste of energy none of us can spare.

I don't know if democracy can survive this death of this industry.

AI companies: This technology we’re developing is dangerous and might destroy humanity and we don’t know how to stop it

Other people: So we should strictly regulate it, create legislative guard rails, and monitor its development?

AI companies: lol no the opposite of all that & give us more money

OH SHIT DUDES

THIS IS A VERY BIG DEEAL

I have spoken before, you may recall, of my suspicion that Leo dropping the hammer on SSPX this summer was the first step to a bigger purge of which Opus Dei is the final boss. if Francis was ready to kick them out before he died, Leo would have known that
El País publishes two letters from Pope Francis in which he accused Opus Dei of engaging in political intrigues like an organized crime syndicate and suggested he was prepared now to ban the organization outright. The organization now exercises extraordinary influence in one country: the US.

this, more than anything, is why the elite have continued to back him even as he plunges into historical levels of unpopularity

“we can be complete assholes without consequence” is the best thing that ever happened to them and they will fight to the death to protect that right
Trump's main contribution to our culture was showing other rich guys that they can be as odious as they want if they don't back down on their own volition. Much like a lot of laws, social opprobrium just doesn't apply to them
Any candidate who accepts Musk's money will be repeatedly asked if they think it's a political liability to partner with an open bigot—blatantly racist, unambiguously sexist, egregiously antisemitic, you can pick one of many, many available examples—and if they'll give the money back, right? Right?

Freedom of speech never meant freedom from the negative consequences of unpopular speech. Bluesky is here to fix that:
Dogpiling or harassing users is unacceptable. We have taken recent action against accounts for this behavior, and we will be increasing our efforts, consistent with our Community Guidelines.

Trump is *literally* pushing “Unhumans,” a book that encourages right-wing readers to view liberals and Democrats as “unhuman.”

The current political moment has shown me how many people go through life frustrated that they don’t have the right state apparatus to indulge their worst urges. They‘re not “left behind”, they’re not “lonely”, they want to hurt other people. And this is their generational opportunity.
Was just watching “I’m Still Here”, a film about a family suffering under the Brazilian dictatorship, and one thing not discussed enough about the rise of fascism is: for a lot of people, it’s the perfect chance to unleash hate as a recreational activity. For them, it’s fun.
