I'm not 100%, but I think there's two problems with this:

-GCism isn't grassroots. It's pretty clearly been dark money boosted.

-I sincerely don't believe their infrastructure would function for anything pro-social. The vector of their 'peaking' worked because of the content, which was hate.
People want to hear this even less, but the left/liberals need to study the TERF movement as an example of wildly successful organising and cultural engineering by an extremely niche, mostly online micro-community.
people don't want to hear this, but it's why elite persuasion matters

the uk becoming the most trans-exclusionary developed democracy in the world under a labour gov was not a bottom up thing—it was the other side reaching the people who matter

Exactly. The best predictor of an organised anti trans movement happening is if gay marriage is legalised.
Here in Australia one anti gay marriage org immediately changed to an anti trans one.
So..if I'm gonna get into it without being paid to write a column, yeah, I mean the reason I pinned the 'start' of this swing on 2015 is that's when Obergefell was handed down.

The -IMMEDIATE- response from Family Research Council was a set of policy briefs specifically targeting trans Title IX.

The calculator industry didn't end up being 40% of the stock market. Digital clocks didn't threaten that everyone's degrees would be useless and that no-one with an independent mind would ever find employment.

Someone has to pay for the costs of using massive building sized GPU clusters to role play your submissive AI waifu while doing your coursework for you and feeding you things to say in job interviews.

None of that is efficient stuff to calculate and all of it costs tokens.

Fundamentally, running massive table multiplications in GPUs to answer what time it is is a very inefficient way to do computing but people like the promise of getting rid of nerds insisting they learn how the box works.

AI is an "I don't want to learn how things work for them to be useful" tool.

14. One last thing. Water. Access to potable water is a serious issue across Indian Country. The fault lies pretty universally with Corporate America being given carte blanche by the US government to strip resources and pollute with no concern for the effect on tribal people.

1. One of the frustrating things about social media is having to repeat things that I thought were common knowledge. Tomatoes, potatoes, corn, most beans and squash, and chocolate originated in the Americas. Indigenous Religions weren't decriminalized until 1978 and not fully legalized until 1994.

What.
Untreated.
River.
Water.
Does.

The Reflecting Pool uses untreated Potomac River water. It’s supposed to cycle in on one end and out the other, slowly.

The only way to have a still, non-algae’d reflecting pool in DC in Summer is to have a pool that’s 80% chlorine by volume.

Cloudpunk.

An ~eight hour game, with no combat, where you are functionally an uber air-taxi driver on your first night shift in a cyberpunk city.

If someone /in/ the setting is believing that makes someone less human, fine. That's worth exploring.

If the /setting/ believes that, then it's garbage.

Beyond that, as to the presence of 'Cyberpsychosis' as a mechanic in the Cyberpunk TTRPG (and similar things, like Shadowrun with Essence),

And you know how easy it would have been to fix this?

The corps don't treat your body as sacred. We do.

Sure, this person was a victim. Fine, they're a conventionally attractive woman you're saving in the tropiest way.

You pull her naked body out of the bath, and wrap her in the shower curtain.

Because the powers in-universe say No.

Does the narrative agree with them? Does it buy the ideology of the corporations? Does it say that only a few people matter?

Do people - all people, not just the elect - own their own bodies, their own future?

Should they?
