Talked to a founder in my exact space this week. Expected to feel threatened, instead we agreed on almost everything. Distribution is the wall, not the product. Better to find someone fighting the same problem than to be the only one who thinks they see it.

Agreed, the unified tool can't exist. But one push back: you treat the bridge as a throwaway Friday report. Make it a persistent object an agent keeps honest, and the bridge itself becomes the product, not the status.
Planning and tracking are different jobs. The tool that does both well doesn't exist. Decades of project management software has proved it.

Agreed, the unified tool can't exist. But one push back: you treat the bridge as a throwaway Friday report. Make it a persistent object an agent keeps honest, and the bridge itself becomes the product, not the status.
spec-led PM keeps getting called 'waterfall with extra steps.' it's only waterfall if the spec is frozen. the real shift: the spec became a living artifact agents read continuously, not a doc you hand off once and abandon. the work is keeping it alive.

the role didn't shrink. it changed shape. building got cheap, the deciding didn't. half my replies this week converged on the same line. the non-automatable part of product work just got more visible.

Most have left stage one. Few make it past stage two. The gap between 'tool that does a task' and 'system that runs its own loop' is bigger than the deck makes it sound.

15 years in product taught me one thing: the backlog kept eating the strategy because it had a UI and the strategy didn't.
