There's something without words, without a name, that feels very stark and important about the passing of time and our particular generation's relationship to these collective trauma anniversaries that were/are hyper political, and within just a few short years, reveal so SO much about everything.

A concrete example of why the Trump administration is attacking Stripes. They don't want this covered.

I wrote about how immigration arrests are at all-time highs, even as ICE is trying to assume a lower public profile. How are they doing this? Look to your local police.

This could not be done with any respect for human rights whatsoever

Tonight the US struck Iran near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran struck Kuwait. Kuwait activated air defenses against hostile missiles and drones. Both sides say the ceasefire is holding. A ceasefire where both sides are actively firing at each other is not a ceasefire. It is a war without an honest name.

The erosion of public and private trust among peoples, institutions, and states remains one of the greatest existential threats of the early 21st century. For years I thought the answer to this was movement building until I learned the hard way that the U.S. grassroots arenas is far from immune.
Iran's foreign minister said a lack of trust is the biggest obstacle in negotiations to end the war with the U.S., saying Friday that Tehran would be open to diplomatic help, particularly from China, to help ease tensions. https://to.pbs.org/4umdg4c

I am the reporter who asked this question, which I think should be asked more often.

More than 100 children were reported killed at the girls’ school in Minab.
Q: "We're almost 10 weeks since a missile hit a girls' school in Iran. Who fired that missile?"

Trump: "That's under study right now and we'll give you a report as soon as we have it."
