Must have been a while ago. With the number of new PMs we've had in recent years, no SoS has been in post for the time it would take a joke to become long running.

I'd advise that you reply to the image you're joking about next time. It might help people without your obvious intellect spot that you're making a reference rather than posting an amusingly coincidental non sequitur, especially one paraphrased rather than quoted from the source material. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I otherwise completely agree with all your comments, but I sadly have at least another 15 years to go until retirement and had a rotary phone at home into my teens. Admittedly, it was the secondary upstairs phone and the main one had buttons, but still, it was there. 🙂

Apparently it was meant to be Klytus picking up the ring. Which, given his grisly fate earlier in the film, seems less believable than the usual interpretation of a revived Ming. I'd have been disappointed the sequel couldn't feature Prince Thun, though, given how close he was to Filmation's Flash.

There is no "dialling code" for mobiles now that numbers are portable - I have an old Orange number on an entirely different (and still extant) network. I therefore give the number in the format that makes it most memorable, which is 07XX XXXX XXX.
