One more thing (and good on you for not doing it), due to the low pressure on the top of the wings, you can’t get gun soot streaks on the top of the wing. The bottom has the high pressure area so you get the streaks under the wing but never on the top.

Panel lines are non existent on the upper surfaces of ww2 planes. There are few panels and there is nothing but dirt, paint
fading, and scuffs (and grimy fingerprints). Panel lines are a modeling standard that are not realistic. Oil gets into fuselage (near the engine) and underside panels

I moved here in August and have been to two hobby shops including this remarkable model and supplies selection at the Hobbycraft chain stores! Glorious.

Found out (by accident) that it’s cheaper to fly from Phoenix to Manchester via Heathrow than it is to fly from Phoenix to Heathrow. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

That streaking is pretty subtle in real life. Unlike all the subsequent marks with the stub exhausts. Time in service and available fuel made a difference too. BofB Spits tended to have very little (partly because most of the lanes were new). But good on you using references.

It is physically impossible to have gun soot streaks on the top of the wings because of how wings work. Period. And exhaust soot on Mk1s are very fine. The exhaust doesn’t reattach to the fuselage until it’s well down the fuselage. Take constructive criticism and look at more than one reference.

Spitfires are tough like that. I did a Kotare 1/32, which has an exquisite cockpit, and all you can see is the seat.

I got all my model building supplies and tools packed to ship to England for our escape from the U.S. It compacted to a reasonable size. #histscalemodels, #scalemodels

This week, I had a special experience seeing “The Empress Pub” which my great grandparents owned in Liverpool. Ringo Starr grew up in the row of houses behind it and his mom worked for my great grandmother as a barmaid.

This is why we have American fascism. Most US adults don’t support Trump but many more 2024 VOTERS do.
