Visited the wonderful long-tailed shrike in Gloucs. It was in specular fresh plumage and was very obliging. Thanks to the landowner. #birds

Mummy badger has been visiting our urban garden for many weeks and it was obvious that she was suckling a cub(s). Last night we had a new visitor...really rather cute #springwatch #nature #ukwildlife

Male blackcap on the Somerset Levels yesterday. Billions of mozzies, along with warblers, esp garden, sedge and reed, cuckoos, bitterns, egrets, marsh harriers, bitterns calling, swifts. Dragonflies and damsels downed by the torrential rain.

Very late #wildflowerhour hedgerows. Yellow archangel, ramsoms, bluebell and wood melick in Bath. Orange tip on cuckoo flower, where more grassy, making an appearance. Good year for butterflies so far.

A wonderful week at the @portlandbirdobs.bsky.social. Thanks to Martin and Jodie, and Mark Cutts. New sightings included curlew sandpipers and a whinchat. Lots of wheatears, warblers and bountiful sea life on the Bill. 100s of linnets & a wall butterfly. Enjoyed meeting the palmate newts too!
