There are many advocates that need to stop defending e-motos as if they're bicycles. The longer we pretend this scrutiny is unwarranted, the more damage it does to actual e-bikes, which are legitimate tools enabling people to safely and affordably ditch their cars.
folks i love e bikes but this is bullshit, this thing can go well over 30mph. idc that it has pedals, this shit is a motor vehicle, it should require license plates and a license to operate, and has no place in bike lanes, foh

Lots of electric motocross on Calgary’s pathways this long weekend. I get kids like them, but riding them on public paths is illegal and dangerous.

Even as much of the earth is burning up in the heat!

This is only the beginning.

The climate crisis is here.

So why are politicians and most of the media still acting as though this can wait?

It can't.

We can still avoid some of the worst impacts - but only if we find the courage to act.

Fascinating thread on the green reflecting pool by a scientist who works with cyanobacteria. Very cool.
Since I did do my PhD in cyanobacteria growth and treatment optimization modeling AND work in the water treatment industry, I’m gonna share my theory as to what’s happening here and how to fix it.

People are focusing on the painted bottom of the pool increasing residual heat, and while that 1/19
