White throated kingfisher a small bird with brown head and body with a white neck and chest. with a red beak, and dark underside of tail feather - sitting on a thin branch. there are small leave visible on the branch. White throated kingfisher same bird, now sitting at a different angle, and showing its beautiful blue wings and tail feather. in the background, an intermediate egret (white bird with long neck) looking towards the madness in front, where it looks like a flying little cormorant (black bird) has resulted in the greater flamingo to lost track of what it was trying to do and its legs are moving randomly. a female purple sunbird, hovering in front of a red flower as it drinks nectar. the bird is mostly olive green in color.

A medium sized bird perched on a dry branch with its mouth open. the bird has a pinkish face and throat, a brown head and chest, with blue cap - it also has blue wings, and the underside of the tail has a pastel shade of blue with a black at the end. the lower body of the bird is also similar shade of pastel blue. the bird is photographed from the front. and there are criss-cross of dry branches, and a green background of leaves (out of focus) A lesser adjutant stork, sun bathing (noon time) with its wing spread out completely. the wings are a varying shades of blue with a green hue, and moves from lighter to some dark black tips. the photo is taken from behind, so part of the head and the neck is visible. there is elephant grass all around. pair of kingfishers sitting on a branch, one showing its chest and another its back - both are looking towards the right. the bird has its head tilted slightly backwards to show more of its nape.

An indian robin (female) perched on a branch and looking ahead - it is rotund, feathers are pale brown, the rump feathers are redder - and the tail is black. there are lots of dry branches all around a small bird, with light grey color, most likely a Prinia (possible grey breasted) - perched on a thin branch. there is a slightly darker shade of feathers which makes a mask of sorts. the cap is also slightly darker color..

you can see 3 flamingos with their head down in the lake looking for food - the one int he middle is in motion. the one in the middle has moved to where the one on the right was eating, and has displaced his head, which has now been pulled out of the water and giving a side eye!

A male peafowl perched above a stone, and there is a water body behind it. in foreground you can see lots of grass the bird has a blue neck and green nape - very iridescent colors. the wing is black and white, and behind it is the long tail which is bunched down. A lesser adjutant stork in a marshy grassland, looking for meal. the bird has white chest, and grey wings, the beak is long. it is kind of looking in the front, but head is slightly aligned in that manner. a white rumped shama bird perched on a stone in middle of the frame. there is moss on the stone. the bird has a black head and upper body, but a rust orange front side. there's a white spot on its rump.

I just found out today is #WorldOceanDay so here's some photos from Mumbai's shoreline.

a tiny hermit crab hiding inside a shell, which might be a size too small for it. you can see the large pincer and two legs jutting out of the shell. The photograph was taken after sun set using a torch, and of the anemone being underwater. You see pink transluscent tendrils in the middle of the photograph which belong to the anemone. there are also a lot of algae, moss (greenish) that are present in patches. the right top with a beautiful abstract pattern. zoomed and cropped version of the indian sea plume - Each sea plume is a colony of minute organisms called polyps. These gorgonian polyps produce this branching plant-like structure with the help of a protein called gorgonin, similar to the material animals create horns with. The branching is produced along a single plane, resembling a hand-fan, hence are commonly referred to as sea fans.
