A man sits alone on a tiled bench between two staircases, playing a red guitar. The walls behind him are covered in ornate blue and gold tiles. Blurred figures move up and down the stairs around him, creating a sense of motion. The lighting is soft and warm, highlighting the musician against the patterned wall.

Flooding at the Bus Station

📍Hanoi, Vietnam

#Photography #StreetPhotography #Rain #RainPhotography #SonyPhotography #Sonya6700 #NightPhotography
A man in a green shirt and cap crouches inside the open luggage compartment of a green bus, his face catching the dim light as he peers outward. Above him, the reflection of another man can be seen looking down at him. Through the rain-streaked window of a bus, a person in a red rain poncho looks out, their face faintly illuminated by neon light. Others sit around them in shadow, partly obscured by curtains. A shirtless man in shorts stands barefoot in ankle-deep floodwater at night, smiling while a small blue car with headlights on is stopped behind him. Reflections of light ripple across the wet street. Close-up of legs walking through shallow floodwater on a city sidewalk, wearing blue sandals and pulling a suitcase. The wet pavement glows with golden reflections from streetlights.

Summer break in Ha Giang
📍 Ha Giang Province, Vietnam

#TravelPhotography #DocumentaryPhotography #Photography #StreetPhotography #SonyPhotography #Sonya6700
Two young boys lie on their backs at the edge of an infinity pool, with lush, steep green mountains rising in the background. Their relaxed postures contrast with the vast, dramatic landscape behind them. Four children in bright orange life vests sit closely together on a wooden swing, eating ice pops. They’re positioned in front of a stone wall and surrounded by lush garden greenery, all appearing to enjoy a quiet moment after swimming. A child in an orange life vest stands halfway out of a pool, eating a chocolate ice cream bar while holding onto a metal pool ladder. Behind the child, verdant mountains stretch into the distance.

An antique electronics shop crammed floor to ceiling with vintage audio equipment, reel-to-reel tape recorders, radios, and speakers. In the narrow passageway, a man in a blue-gray shirt sits on the floor reading or repairing something, with a cigarette in his mouth. The light is dim and moody, with a teal cast that gives the scene a nostalgic, cinematic feel.

A man in a white uniform and paper hat labeled “Café Du Monde” stands against a beige concrete wall with his hands in his apron pockets. He has a beard and wears a bowtie, looking pensively downward. A gas lantern and exposed piping accent the otherwise plain wall. There is a strip of green plants along the bottom edge of the wall, contrasting with the neutral tones.

Two of my most frequent muses.

📍ABQ, NM

#Photography #PortraitPhotography #CandidPortrait #StreetPortrait #GR3x #GRIIIx #RicohPhotography
A colorfully lit portrait of two people at night, posing with playful seriousness. The man wears a dark shirt, baseball cap, and large orange-tinted glasses, while the woman wears a red shirt, red-orange felt bucket hat with black spots, matching earrings, and similar tinted glasses. She holds a hula hoop with both hands, and the man’s arm supports it from behind her. Neon lighting casts green and magenta hues across the scene. A blurred background suggests an outdoor social event or gathering.

Scenes from over Grif's shoulder

📍ABQ, NM

#Photography #StreetPhotography #RicohPhotography #GR3x #GRIIIx
Inside a retro vehicle filled with eclectic details, a man in a colorful shirt looks out a grimy front window. The dashboard is cluttered with analog dials, plants, and ornaments, including a small striped carousel and a bright orange towel that reads “Respect Our Water Land Culture.” Outside, faint reflections reveal a carnival umbrella and ambient nighttime scene. A woman with clown makeup and curly orange-blonde hair stands under a canopy tent at night, caught mid-gesture with a lively expression. She is lit warmly against a shadowy background, wearing a striped outfit and a sleeveless denim vest. In the foreground, an out-of-focus man’s colorful shirt and raised hand partially block the view, adding tension and a sense of candid spontaneity.

Close-up macro photograph of a cactus with sharp, pale yellow spines against a soft, muted background. A dried, curled stem with remnants of a small purple flower extends from the cactus surface, creating a delicate, organic arc across the frame.

A black-and-white photograph of the rear half of an old, rusted car perched atop a corrugated metal fence, framed against the sky. Barbed wire runs along the top of the fence, adding a stark, gritty edge to the scene. The image is shot from a low angle, emphasizing the car’s unusual, precarious placement.

A wide-angle photograph of a small boat moving down a narrow canal at sunset. The hazy golden-orange sky creates a near-monochromatic effect, with the sun and its reflection softly glowing in the water. Industrial buildings and tree-lined banks border the calm water on both sides, and gentle ripples trail behind the boat, breaking the canal’s mirror-like surface.

A small yellow wooden rowboat floats quietly in still, green water near the edge of a dense jungle. Fallen white branches stretch across the water, and large, layered ferns dominate the lush background. The scene is moody and serene, with no visible sky—just reflections and shadows playing across the surface.

A black and white photograph of a silhouetted person sitting at a café table, mid-gesture, framed against a large window. A black and white photograph of a metal rear door in an alleyway. Above the door, a neon “OPEN” sign glows faintly, slightly tilted. Below it, two large printed signs read: “DOORS OPEN AT 2 PM, 7 DAYS A WEEK” and “TRY OUR DISCREET REAR ENTRANCE.” Harsh light casts strong shadows on the door, adding to the gritty, secretive atmosphere.

A black-and-white photograph of a fenced-off parking lot. The vertical bars of the fence dominate the foreground, evenly spaced and rigid, creating a visual barrier between the viewer and the scene beyond. On the far wall, a phrase in capital letters reads: “WE BELIEVE EVERY … IS AN OPPORTUNITY.” The word “OBSTACLE” is written not on the wall itself but on a dumpster positioned in front of it, creating a layered visual effect. The placement makes the word feel temporary, movable—yet it also stands in the way, reinforcing the contrast between restriction and possibility. The setting is stark and industrial, with an empty lot, tall fencing, and a distant sign that reads “CAUTION.

A black-and-white mural of Marilyn Monroe is painted on a textured wall. A large section of the building’s facade has peeled away due to storm damage, revealing rough, weathered material underneath. This missing piece covers Marilyn’s eyes, leaving only her lips and hair visible. The contrast between the smooth painted portrait and the jagged, deteriorated wall gives the image a fragmented and eroded look.

A dark, grainy photograph features a mysterious figure standing in a cloud of mist or smoke, partially illuminated by a dramatic diagonal beam of light. The figure’s face is obscured, adding to the eerie and atmospheric quality of the scene. The high contrast and textured appearance evoke a cinematic, noir-like mood.

A man in a leopard-print coat and a bold-patterned captain’s hat leans against a neon-lit geometric wall, looking down with a smirk. A woman in a sequined outfit, her back to the camera, lifts her arm toward the wall, her long blonde hair glowing pink under the lights. A woman in a shimmering sequined outfit and intricate face paint tilts her head up, lost in thought. Behind her, neon blue and green lanterns glow softly, while a costumed figure with furry ears stands slightly out of focus, adding an ethereal, surreal quality to the scene. In a dark, neon-lit crowd, a man in a bright red fuzzy bucket hat and floral shirt leans forward, deep in conversation. The colorful light spills across his face, while silhouettes of other partygoers fade into the deep blue shadows of the background. A figure in eerie clown makeup gazes upward, their face painted stark blue and white against the deep red of their curls. A cluster of oversized red balloons drifts above them, glowing under surreal neon lighting, while blurred party lights cast streaks of green and pink in the background.

A towering natural rock arch rises against a vast night sky filled with stars. The rugged, textured stone contrasts with the deep blackness of space, where the faint Milky Way and a single meteor streak add cosmic drama. The scene evokes solitude and the grandeur of the universe.

"Steamed Buns"
Found this one looking through old pictures from Sunburn, New Mexico's regional burning man event. A group warming their buns on the flames of the collapsed effigy.

A black-and-white photograph captures a group of people gathered around a fire at night. Three individuals in the foreground lean forward, their faces partially illuminated by the fire’s glow. One wears a cowboy hat and has a thick beard, another has curly hair, and the third has a tied-up bun. The background consists of a group of people standing with their backs turned, dressed in minimal clothing, creating a sense of ritual or communal event. The image is grainy, adding to its raw and documentary-like aesthetic.

The scene is framed by dark, angular architectural elements, creating a sense of depth and isolation.
