Holy moly. Luxon on tv tonight denying his office ever saw the draft climate law given to his office by Fonterra & Z Energy; the companies confirm they handed them over. Language of our draft legislation almost identical.

Last night we were about to have dinner when a loud tick tock came from the living room. It was the metronome atop the piano happily tocking away. No one - animal or human had been in the room and the metronome had sat unused for months. 😳 I’d love a rational answer to this!…please

He is a beyond pathetic. Such an important health measure for NZ to be aligned to and he doesn’t know…!
The government is run by NZF and ACT and Luxon is just their very incompetent junior press secretary who only got the job cause his dad is a mate of someone in the party.

Donald Trump, the Kaiser in Mar-a-Lago newsroom.co.nz/2026/01/27/d... Yes. Perfectly describes Trump.

Comment: When assessing Donald Trump's second term, it is tempting to reach for comparisons with Hitler – but it is a different German ruler who provides a more useful parallel

You’re joking right! Surely this car crash of government wouldn’t be quite that stupid?!

As I retired GP I have experienced this with family members not removing access to a vehicle in spite of me notifying Waka Kotahi and their licence being removed. People with dementia can forget!! I had to explain that I could get the police to remove the car if they didn’t.
For those of you who know my involvement in motorsport + caring for an impaired elder, I can’t underline this enough.

Evaluation from the family doctor & if they lose their licence, you MUST remove their vehicle. Dm me if you struggle with this.
Check on your elders people--you want them to transition to not driving well before they drive their car into the home of another family!

Regulatory Standards Bill could cost up to $60 million a year
And even the most conservative estimates of $18 million a year from Treasury misses the mark i.e. Treasury says most costs are yet to be accounted for

Unbelievably insulting and serves to show how childish and ill equipped for their jobs these two are. Public health doctors and other health workers give their professional lives for a poorly paid job to advance the health and well being of the community
So the deputy prime minister and the minister of health have no real idea what “public health” actually means, nor what public health officials do.
That’s shameful & embarrassing to be honest. If public health officials can’t comment on issues that affect public health, we’re SO fucked.
Subtle isnt it.

This “us” & “them” rhetoric from Seymour & Simeon

Yet health officials are the one’s we rely on to do the work these NAct politicians take credit for if it’s good & blame when it’s bad

This isn’t us. If they divide us we lose. Stand up for health professionals left in NZ
