I've had conversations with 70+ year-olds where they've complained about my generation and I've told them the decades I've worked, the house I won't own, the family I won't raise and my expected future and seen in their eyes a flash of incriminating sympathy. But it's only a flash, and they recover.
The political story of this era is a petulant, narcissistic generation demanding to ruin a future they will not be a part of. Pulling the ladder up behind them wasn’t enough; their arrogance and vanity demanded more.

Not true. We are doing all of that in exchange for the same nuclear statement and Iran graciously allowing Israel to not deplete its remaining stockpile of functionally irreplaceable aircraft and missile interceptors.
Folks, we're recognizing an Iranian sphere of influence, withdrawing forces, and paying indemnities, in exchange for merely the same statement from Iran that they have always made about nuclear weapons.

Hot Take: It's beautifully lit but this movie is pure cheese. The story is a cartoon, the characters are lazily conceived and Walken's ethnically diverse Burger King Kids Club of a gang is stupid. It's an edgy gangster movie from the mind of George Lucas.

The congressional nuclear bunker at Greenbrier was stocked not only with food, weapons, medicine, etc but with a ton of alcohol until 1975. So many members of Congress were open alcoholics that emergency planners feared a wave of people simultaneously having withdrawal in a confined space.
i miss when the FBI was run by honest, upstanding drunks who could dutifully sober up before the 11am press conferences and confine their weekday drinking to after 4pm

Honestly believe Hollywood needs to create a Strategic Yayo Reserve to bring back good movies.
Cocaine has done infinitely more for the arts and education than AI ever will.
Universities are deeply ambivalent about cocaine ... But this is not the way. You can't preserve thinking by banning cocaine--and that rule is practically unenforceable. The best course, in the long term, is to help students understand how to use cocaine an an aid to thinking.
