If anyone’s unsure about their meter, give your energy supplier a call and explain that you’re planning to connect plug-in solar. They should be able to tell you whether your existing meter is suitable or needs replacing.

Some mechanical meters can run backwards when a plug-in solar kit is connected, and may need replacing (which your supplier should do for free).
The list linked below shows the affected models. Yours looks like it might be a Sangamo Weston S200-16, which is listed and would need replacing.

Yes - that’s going to catch a lot of people out unfortunately. But glad you checked (many won’t, hence why we upped the visibly of that warning on the site)
You only need to replace the single RCD that is protecting the circuit you plan on using though - so might not be as pricey as you think.

That right. Self-install plug in solar products get the standard 20% VAT rate.

You can have up to 2000W of panels under the new regs, but the microinverter limits the output to 800W.
Having larger panel capacity helps the system reach its 800W maximum more often (helpful on cloudy days or during winter)
