But also 2 is worth mentioning because I always skipped charge because the name made me think it was like a charge beam and those always annoy me

Can't stress 3 hard enough, literally all my memory of the game was playing it like you had to during that fight. Nah, that's literally the only time in the game they expect you to play that defensively, and also enemies drop like 80% less health so you learn "don't rely on health drops"

this thread made me finally go back and finally actually beat control! My thoughts:

1. You're right.
2. "Charge" is a terrible name for a rocket launcher.
3. Tomassi is a terrible first boss who seems purpose built to teach you how to play the game incorrectly

the backrooms and control 1 both happened in 2019, wouldn't have been enough time to adapt the backrooms into control given the amount of time gamedev take

i would call that a failure of signposting, then, because my memory of struggling with control is how the game is showering you with gun upgrades, constantly talking about how important your gun is, etc.

kinda makes me, the player, feel like the gun is the most important thing i have!

i put this in my living room. two weeks later investigators enter to find a number of dead space audio logs and resident evil notes chronicling my descent into madness, me dead with my hands missing, and this couch with two more hands in the fabric pattern

if you can magically remove heat by invoking maxwell's demon? that'd do it.

the fire triangle: oxygen, fuel, heat. if you have all three, you have fire. disrupt the triangle, combustion ceases. all methods of firefighting do this, e.g. chemical fire extinguishers block oxygen from reaching the fuel, water both removes oxygen AND heat.

i had no idea hpmor was relevant outside of being a silly joke from 20 years ago and i had no idea yud was *this* relevant still
