replacement podcaster @ www.violentpeople.co
I'll be busy with real life stuff but anyone reading this should go have fun online with Orchid
tomorrow I will be live tweeting All In on @violentpeople.co where I most certainly won't be saying any problematic things about Kenny Omega's rectum. Tune in if you want to see pictures of the expensive take out brunch I buy for me and my wife to enjoy during all the bad wrestling!

worst wrestling podcast in america. entirely possible that we spent more time discussing Biodome (1996, dir. Jason Bloom) & Encino Man (1992, dir. Les Mayfield) than actual wrestling matches. worth a listen if you experience erectile dysfunction and/or male pattern baldness.

I wanted to investigate why Chris Jericho names David Bowie as an influence in every interview he gives. I ended up just writing about how scary and badass the Painmaker is. woebegonejabroni.net/jericho 🤼

It’s just another day in Chris Jericho’s life in a Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp.

My bravest and most controversial X-Take is that the persistent and constant horniness should be ambient and subtextual and implicit, the second it becomes the text it's only fun for aforementioned comic panel Tumblr posters
Okay, I'm genuinely throwing this out to people: what are your mildly shit-stirring takes on X-Men comics and characters?
Anyway, that's bedtime! Maybe I'll think of more tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to hit me with some of your spicier X-men takes below

Also making Storm Literally A Goddess is as stone-cold stupid a take on the character and her meaningfulness as could ever be imagined.

It's okay for the X-Men to be a book about, like, 8 people, and not Every Mutant Character Who Has Ever Had Any Dialogue Ever. Also, "is this just bait for people who post comic panels on Tumblr" should be a constant question, answered mercilessly

as much as everyone gasses up Pax Americana (and rightfully so, the level of craft is plainly visible) i really and truly believe Ultra Comics is the last great thing morrison has written. maybe they have one more left in the tank! hopefully!
The central conceit that comics tell the real stories of what’s happening on other Earths is fun (real comics as mini inserts in bits of art never look right though!) Mid tier Morrison at best IMO though I liked most individual issues well enough (Sad nazis! Sivanaday! Them tutting over THE YOUTH!)

1. FINAL CRISIS (2008, DC)

Final Crisis is my favourite event. There are many excellent reasons for saying it isn't the *best*, but it's the one that most fulfils the promise of my first, Secret Wars: an epic story only an event could tell

4. AGE OF APOCALYPSE (1995, Marvel)

Stuck in the diminishing returns of imitating Chris Claremont's labyrinthine subplotting without his flair, the 90s X-Office does the one thing he never tried: a story with a beginning, a middle and an end.

it's fine to just like the idea of a band. you don't have to be a soldier for their music too. you don't even have to LISTEN to their music. you can just read their wikipedia page and be like "neat"
Post your hottest music take.

8. SECRET WARS (2015, Marvel)

The ultimate event. 200-plus tie-ins, Marvel publishing nothing else for months, and the grand resolution of Jonathan Hickman's "multiversal collapse" story. It's a lot!
