Bucks in 6.
I fed a video of my golf swing into ChatGPT, it made some recommendations of things I should work on, and my average score dropped from the low 100s to mid 80s.

I would have literally paid thousands of dollars to improve my game to that extent a few years ago.
Use it *to do what*, though? For those of us who are not computer programmers, asking "to what purpose could I put this instrument?" and being told that it's our own fault for not already knowing that answer is not exactly useful.

The average person really does think AI is just the free version of Copilot and the Google AI overview, huh

This argument has always confused me, especially when applied to Congressional salaries.

Like guys, the PRESIDENT’S admin making $150k is surprisingly low, if anything.
Salary of executive assistant Natalie Harp: $150,000 a year.

Average salary of a sailor on the USS Lincoln:
~ $50,000 a year.

Posts like this might as well just read “I do not work a corporate job.”
You seen them on Twitter, the bots desperately sent out to promote AI, the wheels are coming off, bankruptcy is coming.

Can't wait.

The Brewers are up 22-0 over Seattle, and one of those runs came because Julio Rodríguez caught the second out and threw it into the stands thinking it was the third.

Genuinely one of the funniest things I’ve ever read
Another thing worth noting is that cyclists did a lot of work to advance the drivers as murderers/cars as weapons narrative currently being employed by ICE

I have no idea why leftists keep making this argument. It doesn’t matter what Republicans say if voters don’t believe them.

They would not buy a “David Crowley is a communist” attack. They would buy a “The ‘abolish the police’ self-described socialist is a communist” attack.

“We can't solve a housing crisis without building more housing.”

SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS 🗣️
We can't solve a housing crisis without building more housing.

Today we broke ground on the Casanova Residence, which will soon be nearly 100 affordable and supportive homes with on-site services for New Yorkers.

Every new home is a step toward a City that everyone can afford.

“Let’s do central planning without the planning” is a genuinely hilarious bit, shame these guys actually mean it
Well for one large parts of market economics would be obsolete as we decommodify things like housing and food. The profit motive would not be the driving factor of economic thought.

New post on data centers and land use, where I go into my manifesto for why we should trust farmers less open.substack.com/pub/andymasl...
Data center land use issues are fake
We have plenty of land, data centers provide more revenue per unit area than any other building, and we should have way less farmland

Yes. The pseudoscience never stays in a box, medieval peasant brain is never contained. You can’t let this shit in the tent. We did the ‘well they’re not like *right*, but the people they’re angry at *are* bad, so what’s *really* the harm…” with woo-woo shit and it contributed to HHS Sec. RFK Jr.

People in the replies whining about water usage when one of the proposed data centers will literally use 99% less water than the paper mill it’s replacing is hilarious.
Breaking News: Gov. Janet Mills of Maine vetoed legislation that would have blocked new data centers in the state until November 2027. It would have been the first state moratorium on data centers as the A.I. industry booms.
Maine Governor Vetoes Bill That Would Have Paused New Data Centers
Gov. Janet Mills said she rejected what would have been the nation’s first moratorium on data centers because it failed to exempt a project in a distressed mill town.

The percentage of Americans who think their personal finances are fine has not substantially changed in the last decade - most people are doing fine!

What has shifted is people's evaluation of the local and (moreso) national economy.

here it is. one single picture that perfectly captures why we have a housing crisis.

it’s not blackrock. it’s not the developers. it’s the boomers who will yell at any politician who wants to build more housing
The Marina Is For Everybody is an incredible sign in its own right, but especially so when deployed in opposition to a new housing project in a census tract where the median household income is ~$250k/yr, and average home values are $2,000,000+

It is quite funny to me that Will Stancil has been making the exact same argument for 4 years straight (there is a gap in how people rate their own financial situation and the broader economy now, but not before)

And yet people still get rabidly angry at him every single time he does.

The people responsible for this should be imprisoned for the rest of their lives.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
