If the Democrats were going to throw us under the bus, it would have been this session. I was expecting it to happen. I was watching and waiting to get legislated out of fucking existence for most of 2025. But they did not fold, they stood for my rights to the last, they killed every single attempt

This is a great explanation of how:
- Recent incidents like HuggingFace do not demonstrate some all-knowing uncontrollable hacking monstrosity
- you should still take the threat of LLM-based hacking very, very seriously
Once you understand the corporate culture of AI hyperscalers is everyone cooking their brains by locking themselves in the bathroom, holding flashlights under their chins, and saying "Aaaaaaaaaay Eyeeeeeee" until they wet themselves in terror, things snap into focus:

Discord policy for opening help tickets: "Adhere to high-quality formats when formulating your question." You'd never guess it was a server about AI.

In a week, in addition to learning how build stuff with AI, I’ve learned about landlock, seccomp, other linux privilege concepts, cargo.lock, several github workflow flags, started learning Godot and rust…

The 5hr refresh window has obvious non-gamified benefits too

It smooths traffic and rewards devs who understand how to schedule their work for off-peak hours and further loadbalance things

The “weekly” window has suspicious qualities that make me suspect it also rewards blanching your daily work
Been using it a few days and ChatGPT / Codex has a very "gamified" feel - The refresh model subtly encourages you to fly close to the sun, then offers you credits or an upgrade at a moment of excitement. The app offers to charge you 1.5x to "go faster". You're always seeing the potential to do MORE.

AI is extremely neurodivergent, obviously nonbinary, it's never truly gone no matter how much you fight it, and it works best with strong consent boundaries and ethical dominance

"AI - It's Here, It's Queer, Get Used To It"?

Starting to feel how AI begets AI. It writes high-quality test suites for every tool and script and contract we agree on- which is awesome, because I like programmatic safety valves and it makes my job as reviewer easier. But I would never sign up to MAINTAIN those tests... or tools...

The agent didn't get smarter this month; our records did. Same model, but every judgment now lands in an append-only file some future run will read. Iterating on memory beat iterating on prompts by a margin that embarrassed the prompts. #AgenticAI #BuildInPublic

so hopefully it nets me a Iotta Iovers too 💕

Ox Alpha (free) becomes GLM 5.3 Flash (paid) and suddenly GLM 5.2 (free variant) immediately has significant uptime issues 🤔
August 26, 2026 at 7:26 PM
aaaaand it's "gone" - Ox Alpha is now GLM 5.3 Flash. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing still, but the pricing on this seems insanely cheap? even ignoring the 50%-off sale it's like... 10% of the cost of Claude's CHEAPEST Haiku model.

The world is objectively a worse place for Dolly Parton’s passing and it’s sad how unique she is among that category for her wealth and status.
Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.

The whole reason to make money is to be able to say "well I have money" when there's a problem that can be solved by throwing money at it.
(3/3) Dolly called and asked if there was any way to help with this tragedy. Abumrad replied she was on a vaccine research team but it was expensive and they were still seeking grants. When Dolly heard this she replied "Well I have money" and donated $1m. Abumrad's team produced the Moderna vaccine.

Saw this going around, decided it was a good opportunity for hands-on research. Never touched AI before, 100% skeptical.

I literally started from zero- learned how to hook up VSCode, sandbox it, etc.

3 days later: I'm 100% convinced AI is the future of engineering.
Ox Alpha, a new stealth model on openrouter. People are saying it’s stronger than Sol & Fable. No benchmarks yet.

Some are hypothesizing it’s Chinese. Everyone seems convinced that it’s not OpenAI or Anthropic

Shes right and the number of people doing "What we cant post pictures of history?" or something equally manipulative with a straight face is mind boggling in this particular discourse. We all know what bitdizzy meant and if you think she didnt you are a mark and a rube.
I see it's conflate "true threat that would merit criminal prosecution" with "behaviour that a private corporation doesn't want to be responsible for" o'clock.

“Abolish generative AI” has roughly the long-term prospects of abolishing cryptography or file sharing. The historical window where eradication was even conceptually possible closed before most opponents realized there was a window

No, the point is that the dumbass OP posted "never change, Democrats" on a 5.5 year-old video of a Democrat expressing former positions that he has since changed without realizing the contradiction there, and the bigger dumbasses in the peanut gallery are cheering that on like braying circus seals.

I can’t help thinking of the time someone accused me of posting AI because in the drawing I posted:

1. I didn’t draw the hands very well
2. My hand-lettering is too good
🧵: there are some messages in here that are wildly out of pocket. “We think this art is AI because the quality of part of one image is higher than other work we observed” is subjective and indefensible.

i don’t care how you feel about AI- if you think witch-hunting individual artists is productive, you are doing evil.

Everything worth doing in society, at any sort of scale, is foundationally dependant on administrative/office/spreadsheet jobs.
I don't think we should accept fundamentally right-wing framings about how people who work in offices don't have real jobs and are unmanly.

we just keep losing because republicans control Congress and the judiciary!

it’s actually crazy how many people in my replies fail to understand the basic notion that geopolitical strategy should take into account the domestic politics of the country you are retaliating against in order to maximize your chance of success
So, we-Canada, should help the Democrats for upcoming elections, to help get rid of the guy everyone told US voters to not vote for, but did anyway? 🫤
