“Carl Ruby, a Springfield pastor, said he was struggling to make sense of Bel’s untimely death. ‘I know that I’m a pastor and I’m supposed to be forgiving,’ he said. ‘But right now as I sit with a broken family, I’m crying out to God for righteous judgment in those who made this happen.’”

hundreds of millions got the COVID vaccine and there were so few problems that the main form of criticism turned into "friend-of-a-friend" hearsay stories, so this guy can't actually cite an actual case but knows his base will think they know people who know people this may have happened to
Sen. Roger Marshall: "Who didn't have a friend who took this vaccine and had some time of complication? A stroke, a blood clot, a young man getting some type of heart inflammation. That's what destroyed the trust in the American people for our government."

It’s bad that people think contemporary politics should have normal workplace culture, as if half of your colleagues are trying to strip rights from or straight up kill your friends and neighbors and then we’re going to happy hour together to celebrate Jackie’s retirement
My hot take is that Lindsey Graham did many contemptible things but if you’re furious that his Senate Democratic colleagues are posting nice things about him today you need to put down your phone, get some fresh air, and remember a time when a colleague you disliked departed this mortal coil.

Every article about a GOP lackey, living or dead, should require a note about their gutter racism, submission towards fascism, and general bloodlust (especially for poor/brown people) as part of their initial introduction. All their news flows downstream of that violence
The NYT obituary of Lindsey Graham makes no mention of his effort to overturn the 2020 election by calling Georgia’s secretary of state to intimidate him into manufacturing votes for Trump. The Times, like all news media, is GOP propaganda erasing Republicans’ history as election deniers

They could’ve just used the original picture but instead used AI, a process which somehow took more human effort, cost more money, and looked worse
ESPN used an AI-edited photo of Tony Parker during the NBA Finals 🏀

They’re now 'evaluating' their use of the tech after the internet widely clowned them for it

Literally why are we doing this
Cuba's minister of energy confirmed reserves are gone — with just enough diesel left to keep hospitals online. The UN has classified Washington's blockade a humanitarian crisis.
Cuba Announces That Its Fuel Reserves Have Been Depleted - Truthdig
The situation created by the U.S. blockade has been classified by the United Nations as a “humanitarian crisis” that affects the most vulnerable groups the hardest.

During the pandemic that killed a million Americans there was no talk about sacrifice from republicans. If you said it wasn’t safe to go to Dave & Busters because there were no more hospital beds available you were a traitor to America.

But a war of choice? Better start your liberty garden now.

I know there’s a new dystopian horror announced everyday but this is fucking gross
Wow: Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, one of the biggest children's hospitals in the nation, will be forced to create the nation's first ever "detransition clinic" as part of a $10 million settlement with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

This is an insane thing to publish
If any other nation’s major newspaper outlet called for the killing of American leaders until they capitulated to demands…

Anyway this is in the Washington Post

Everyone there should be on a watchlist
Polymarket is opening a bar in Washington, D.C. tomorrow called The Situation Room.

Per Polymarket: "Imagine a sports bar… but just for situation monitoring — live X feeds, flight radar, Bloomberg terminals, and Polymarket screens."

Gotta say that this is some extremely creepy language. And the argument basically is... that if the prevent people from treating gender dysphoria (adults, in this case), that they'll just... stop having it? That's not at all how any of this works.

The degree to which delivery apps have spread since COVID straight up makes for a worse society in any city because people are empowered to never leave their homes and that’s really bad
My scorching hot take is that anybody who values London as a great city for pedestrians should stop using all these companies.

we need more strikes. Theyre so much more interested in the appearance of order than actual justice. Arresting people showing up for immigration appointments is perfectly fine with them. Fuck them all.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

they simply do not get it and must be replaced with people who do
We should not fund DHS without serious reform. We could return CBP to border. We could require warrants for immigration arrests. We could beef up training and require identification.

The list of possible reforms is long. What's unacceptable is the current lawless status quo.
