Shout out to my friend Tom "The Pin Guy" from Spokane. Here some of the pins he has made for our weekly protests at the ICE processing facility at Cataldo and Washington (1-3 pm, Wednesdays, if you want to join us). He says making them is the therapy he needs to stay sane. I salute him!

I first learned about Lumumba and the CIA's reprehensible actions in the Congo through a Barbara Kingsolver novel, "The Poisonwood Bible", about a missionary family utterly unprepared for life in central Africa and completely ignorant of the culture and wisdom of the Congolese. Highly recommend.
