He/They.

Games Dev with too many interests. Witty. Enthusiastic. More words.

Looking to write about my experiences here and talk about this gorgeous form of entertainment. Always thinking about new game ideas.

This project as a whole has been a long and exceptionally valuable experience for my growth as a developer, and I have spent the last 2 weeks reflecting on that in the postmortem. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded and supported this project! I look forward to what comes next!

It's very much a human experience, the art of making games and the emotions felt by playing them. So, I feel I would be ignoring a key part of this journey if I didn't write a little bit about how I feel this "human" part plays into what I believe is how all the best games are created.

Also, kind of related - This current project is going to have one heck of a write-up afterwards. I want to talk not only about the game and how I chose to make it, but also the realisations I've had along the way and what they mean for how I want to create games in the future.

In particular, I think it's almost time for me to get involved in game jams again. I want to meet and learn from others, experiencing their journey through this creative industry, and what it means for them to pursue success or happiness in such a challenging field.

So, while I try to finish this final stretch (I say, echoing that phrase ad infinitum...), I want to make a big part of my goal to get involved in communities and learn from other developers. Quoting myself (wow, what an ego) roughly a week ago... "An experience shared is one taken to heart."

I've found myself learning more than just about how to make games while working on this current project, and it put some important things into perspective. In particular, that sense of community surrounding games and the role it plays in creating the beloved experiences that people cherish.

Update 3: Okay, I swear it's not the doors this time. Also, hello!

Update 2: They came back with a vengeance. I've defeated the doors again.
