The main key for #NYR camp is to stay healthy to be able to start fresh unlike last yr. Sullivan has his work cut out for him with so few practices to get them ready quick bc a good start to season is crucial. Curious if he will set lines from start & leave it to gel fast
Should be an interesting camp this yr with it being so short & only 4 preseason games. Roster pretty much set. Really boils down to backup G, 4th line RW, 7th D, & 13F spots. Doubt any rookie makes it outside of Chmelar. Better for Smits, Greentree, etc to cook in Hartford. #NYR

#NYR Rookie Series Game 2 thoughts: Not a great showing. Shaiikov was impressive in net. Greentree was good again. Great goal & hit crossbar

#NYR Rookie Series Game 1 thoughts: Tung was excellent despite giving up 3. Greentree was good, holds onto pucks well, skated better than I thought. Šmits got better as game went on. Had 2 assists but had struggles. He moves so well for his ice, gets up & down ice with ease

Good to be back. #NYR

Really looking forward to going to the Rookie Series this weekend in Allentown. Can’t wait to get firsthand looks at Smits, Beaudoin, Greentree, Aspinall & Lamb especially. We saw Laba & Perreault use these games last year as a springboard for main camp. #NYR
Our Rookie Camp Roster is here!

Love Igor Shesterkin’s new mask for this upcoming season. #NYR

Love it. No risk deal & potential high reward for #NYR. Tolvanen was linked to them 7/1, but nice to swing back around & get him cheap. Very physical and has shown he can score. Really deepens the depth in middle 6 & pushes guys down. Him/Cuylle flanking Laba is a good 3rd line
Rangers are closing in on signing wing Eeli Tolvanen. Puck Pedia has it at one year for $1.5 million.

The 27-year-old Tolvanen posted 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists) in 78 games last season with the Kraken.

Pretty wild that with last season effectively ending in January, it will have been over 8 months since #NYR played a meaningful hockey game when they open the season on 9/29
WE PLAY HOCKEY THIS MONTH 🙌

Curious what they do with Morrow this year. He has to go through waivers if he doesn’t make team & likely gets claimed. Do they risk losing him for nothing or does he get Zac Jones treatment? Shame bc there’s talent there, but he’s blocked right now unless Schneider gone. #NYR
Rangers sign D Scott Morrow to one-year, two-way deal. $850,000 at NHL level, $125,000 in AHL.

Great role for Quick to move into now that he is in retirement. Cant ask for a better mentor for the young goalies coming into the system going forward. #NYR
Rangers are hiring Jonathan Quick as director of goaltending development, The Post has learned.

Immediate details about the role⬇️

Was inevitable, but still exciting to see Smits officially signed. Excited to watch him at the Rookie Series & preseason. Going to be a stud. I like #NYR remade the D to have him in a spot where he doesnt have to rush. Can start in AHL like Perreault & get feet wet if needed
Rangers announce they have agreed to a three-year entry-level contract with No. 5 pick Alberts Smits!

Having #NYR start off with 3 games in 4 nights with 2 on the road is pretty cruel by the NHL haha
The /NHL announced today the 2026-27 regular season, expanded to 84 games with the addition of two more divisional contests per team, will open on Tuesday, Sept. 29. In addition, the League announced each team’s home opener.

A tad more than I expected, but glad they didn’t commit long term to Schneider. He had a bad yr & needs to bounce back. Allows them to reassess next summer. And still gives them control with him another yr & can flip him sometime during season or next offseason if need be. #NYR
Rangers sign Braden Schneider to a one-year deal with a $5.5 million AAV, per source.

Wow pretty big news. Have to think a new young guy taking over the reins from his dad will want to be more hands on day to day. James Dolan has been mostly hands off with #NYR especially since Drury has been at the helm. Curious how this will go. Hopefully will be a good ting
July 3, 2026 at 2:11 PM
Encouraging to see #NYR learning from their mistakes. Adding Petterson was a big help to them not being in a spot where they felt the need to rush Smits. Let him get his feet wet in Hartford and he forces their hand like Perreault did, thats a great problem to have
Did Leon Rose take over Chris Drury’s body? What is going on???? The Rangers are being smart?!
July 2, 2026 at 9:09 PM
This felt inevitable with the Durzi addition. Borgen was good in spurts, but overall left a lot to be desired & that contract wasnt the best. This a solid return to fill the pipeline after unloading other picks lately. #NYR
Borgen to Boston in exchange for a 2nd 2027 2nd round pick and a 2028 3rd round that could be a second if Boston makes conference final in either of next two seaons (unlikely)
July 1, 2026 at 9:30 PM
Look you dont wanna keep giving up 1sts, but they protected it to be safe & so much can change by then anyways. Petterson will help for a while since he is still signed longer term. Drury then still has Schneider/Borgen to play with now for more. Wow. #NYR
So it's Trocheck for Durzi, Beaudoin, 2027 3rd

and

Pettersson for 2030 top-10 protected 1st.

#NYR did well in both trades.
July 1, 2026 at 9:25 PM
I totally thought Drury overplayed his hand with Trocheck at the deadline, but he def ended up better off. Durzi is now best RHD behind Fox and Beaudoin is their best C prospect who turns pro this year & has top 6 upside. #NYR
July 1, 2026 at 8:56 PM
Drury did well here. Durzi is a damn good RHD that slots above Borgen/Schneider. Beaudoin is a much needed young center prospect with speed. Sad to see Trocheck go, but it had to happen. You needed to maximize his value right now. #NYR
This is about a good return as you could expect besides getting a first round pick. Sean Durzi rocks though, great Fox insurance
July 1, 2026 at 8:39 PM
Interesting. Petterson would be a good add for #NYR. Great defensive D. Played under Sullivan in PIT. The left side of D would be stacked with Gavrikov, him and Smits going forward. Not too shabby. Curious of the return.
July 1, 2026 at 7:57 PM
Way more depth and more fun up front for #NYR as of now. Even if/when Trocheck is traded, you hope its for a middle 6 young guy, so he would go to the wing of Miller on that line. Solid work so far by Drury.
Forward lines as of right now:

Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Perreault
Dorofeyev-Trocheck-Miller
Cuylle-Laba-Bjorkstrand
Kartye-Veleno-Chmelar/Rempe

I think this is a decent team?
July 1, 2026 at 7:20 PM
Good deal for #NYR. Bjorkstrand is a nice middle 6 option that can play up and down lineup. Good defensively & has shown he can score too. Perfect that is a 1 year until some of kids come up from Hartford.
July 1, 2026 at 6:50 PM
Perfect signing for 4C for #NYR. Like Veleno. Good speed. Exactly type of guy to replace Carrick and only 1 year is great.
July 1, 2026 at 5:03 PM
Didn’t think #NYR would go with someone as established as Korpisalo to compete with Garand. Gave away nothing to get him, so can’t hurt, but hope Garand gets the gig bc he has to go through waivers
Rangers make a trade, for G Joonas Korpisalo. They give up a 2028 fourth rounder and forward Kalle Vaisanen.
