Can take out the word "Murdoch" tbh, but still evergreen.

I'm telling you guys, you gotta put killcodes in the games you make now and hold them hostage. Day 0 patch set to automatically apply and delete everything if you aren't there to manually pause it. Go full Pandora Tomorrow. Your bosses don't know anything about coding, they can't fix it!

My 12yo son, an enthusiastic video gamer who is actually pretty bloody good at things like Fortnite, has asked to install Elden Ring (I think he watched a YouTuber playing it).

Bless 'im.

The real problem isn't that he's rich, insufferable, full of shit, or even that he's a landlord.

It's the trick whereby a person's own success is presented as proof that structural constraints don't exist.

“I managed it” becomes “anyone can”.

“Anyone can” becomes “poverty is your own fault”.

Slightly random question, but I don't suppose anyone on here can recommend places to eat and drink in Newton Abbot?

Get into a better series, stop supporting a huge fucking transphobe, and stop queueing to stand in front of some bricks. Yes I am and will be mean about it
I hope that one day I can go to King's Cross and not have to see loads of people queuing to stand in front of that stupid bit of wall

PSA. It's pronounced Mack-le-more. Not Macklemore like a town in Yorkshire
September 20, 2026 at 12:38 PM
"Macklemore" does sound like the setting of a Yorkshire ghost story, let's be honest.

America isn't real.

After a longer than usual period of letting my hair and beard grow unruly, I've had a good morning's grooming session and once again resemble a chunky Ming the Merciless.

Now this is very much my jam. If I remember later, I might extend this thread with a few examples of my own.
The UK countryside is full of interdimensional portals. You just have to know where to look. I've decided to make a thread here of some of the best ones I've found on walks.

1. JRR Tolkien's Psychedelic Lime Kiln.

Seagull appreciation time. I watched a seagull taking out a guy's fried chicken the other day, don't walk and eat in Blackpool, my dude.

They're such absolute bastards, but they're kind of magnificent as well. They've got the best resting "fuck you" face and they take what they want.
Why do you go by the handle you do?

I periodically switch between my seagull puns and my own name. Current handle is a play on a song title by Converge. I like Seagull/Eagle jokes, I live by the sea, so these mfers are everywhere and strut about like they own the place (which they do).
Why do you go by the handle you do?

I’m lazy. It was an idea for a website back in the day & I couldn’t think of anything else when I came to start a channel. I’m actually considering changing it & my name soon 👀

I will always repost this thread whenever I see it.
Seagull facts:
The record for the largest number of sandwiches stolen by a seagull in one day is 74.
The Chinese word for seagull translates as "the beaked horse who stares".
The robust digestive system of seagulls allows them to eat many things weaker birds cannot, including multisockets & kettles.

They sell matcha in Greggs. The Lush in Preston is next door to Primark. When was the last time you saw a high street that *didn't* have a Spoons?

In the grand traditional of banal British political observations, this is a fucking doozy.
Other over performances - Greens by 7 and Lib Dems by 6 on high streets with places that sell matcha. Reform and Labour where there is a Kwik Fit and high streets with Wetherspoons lean right, with Lush lean left. Greggs, McDonalds and Primark pretty much bang on average.

I would find it a lot easier to accept another round of lectures about how profligate “we” have been, when members of the public have done nothing but vote the way they were instructed to, if we could also shove all the advocates of austerity into a wicker man, to improve this year’s harvest.

Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I actually stewarded for HTLGI in 2025. One of the events I worked at was Richard Tice and some other right wing ghouls discussing what steps a right wing party might take if it got into power, so I was at least kind of curious from a "know your enemy" perspective.
I get that for some philosophers, it must be a fun time, twice a year, every single year to wait for Lionel Shriver to exit the stage and do a wine and cheese tasting or whisky tasting and say you’re doing public philosophy of sensation, while up next in the wings is Curtis Yarvin or whatever

Anyway. Here's Galway Girl! One, two, three, FOUR!!...🎶"

Seriously though, have you ever heard a more boardroom-concocted, both-sides statement (that he's clearly reading from an autocue) in your entire fucking life?

Resident Evil was *excellent* btw. Lots of fun. Caveat that I've got very little experience of the games, so purists might be haters, idk

Kinda wild that they put Macklemore in charge of Scottish Labour. I did not see *that* coming.

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️

Sometimes I forget, when thinking of Helen Lewis as an idiot, which she is, that she is also a sneering piece of shit, a smug classist looking down on everyone less fortunate than her as a peasant.
My ideal situation would be, essentially, we get to a place where a kid from a South London council estate could, if they so wished, go to the local youth centre and learn to play the violin.

But, then, we come back to this, the reason it will never happen:
