Retired from health care, now indulging my creative side (woodworking, guitar, singing/songwriting, artistic painting) with a little golf sprinkled in. Lifelong Michigan resident. Trying to stay sane and have fun!
I had the Bills 34-10 in this one, but was hoping my Lions would make it more competitive, and they did. So for me this loss was expected and I believe ultimately useful because it really confirmed that the team is solid except for the defensive backfield. They’ve got to find a way to fix it!

A few weeks ago I posted that the 60’s underground group the Weathermen had it right when they said capitalism left unchecked would destroy our culture. This statistic perfectly illustrates how prescient they were.

Our President is a serial abuser. His entire adult life, he has abused contractors who built his buildings whom he stiffed, he tried to execute the Central Park Five, he’s verbally abused political opponents and reporters and, of course, he has physically abused women and presumably children.
This man is entirely fecal. There is nothing about him or his works that isn't utterly shit. And we elected him to lead our nation twice.

Roadside assistance providers negotiate very low payments to tow truck drivers. So drivers will only respond if they have no other private-pay customers who will pay them a fair amount for their work. NEVER pay for roadside assistance service. If it’s “free,” expect to wait hours when you need it.

Emerged? Umm, I think we’ve known this now going back to game two of last season! If this doesn’t get fixed and ends up being the main reason the team doesn’t get to a Super Bowl, Brad Holmes will be vilified by the fans and rightly so.

I sure hope the Lions aren’t putting too many eggs in the “we’ll be getting Branch and Joseph back” basket. I say plan for and act upon the expectation that neither of these guys will return, and if that proves to not be true, that’s icing on the cake of having a strong defensive backfield.

I’ve always been impressed with the Michigan Wolverines’ ability to improve week to week during the season. Going back to the Schembechler days it’s been a characteristic that each team has possessed with just a few exceptions. Yesterday was another example. Way to go guys - congrats on a great win!

As a Michigan football fan I’ll be among the first to say they lucked out last night and the Kyle Wittingham era is off to a very rocky start. Poor quarterback and offensive line play and too many penalties indicate that this program is moving in the wrong direction. 6-6 isn’t out of the question.

I’ve been saying we need a new iteration of Jack and Bobby Kennedy. Those guys fought as dirty as necessary when they had to.
I agree. Democrats are trying to do things within the rules and the right channels. Republicans just do shit and if they're caught, the courts take forever and there's usually a quid pro quo or a cushy deal made.

The Dodgers, Yankees, Braves, and other handful of rich teams are surely pleased with the performances of these young stars who they’ll be signing in a couple of years once the Tigers finish fully developing them at the major league level.

Major league hitters are striking out around 42,000 times per season as compared to 31,000 twenty years ago. That’s a 33% increase. There are less than a dozen 300 hitters in the game now. It used to be three times as many. It’s no wonder I’m bored if and when I do watch a game.

I’ve now watched two installments of Eisen’s “This was Sportscenter” and have concluded that they should have just called it “Look How Great We Were.” Though he and his interviewees attempt to be self-effacing, they miss the mark.

If I’m hired at the auto plant to bolt bumpers onto the cars, but every day I require my boss to tell me to bolt the bumpers onto the cars or else it won’t get done, I won’t last long in my job. Why must we contact our reps every day to get them to act?
