Nicole is a leading expert on the issue of campus sexual violence. I am floored that USA Today would do this to her. I find this kind of journalistic behavior unethical and morally reprehensible, twisting an interview with a renowned advocate for survivors into a hit piece against a survivor.
Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of.

What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

While digging around their website, I found their ethics policy—including a section on AI-generated content.

I suspect that’s a part of what happened here. And I’m upset about that too! I did NOT speak to a journalist with the assumption that my interview would be funneled into producing AI slop.

Americans have never been angrier with one another. But polarization is not the disease—it is the response to a revanchist movement seeking to roll back sixty years of social progress.

I got back home a bit ago from Tennessee's execution of Christa Pike. We sat in the witness room for nearly 2 and a half hours as she received two rounds of pentobarbital. She was taken away in an ambulance shortly after that and I can't say for sure if she is dead or alive at this moment.

did previous Congresses just not imagine such a thing would happen and thus ceded this kind of autonomy when creating the frameworks for the agency? Surely Democrats could have fixed this a few years ago?
SCOOP: The SEC just quietly rewrote its own rules so ONE Trump appointee can make decisions for the entire agency, no public comment required.

This is right as the SEC preps rules on crypto and AI mega-IPOs like Anthropic’s.

A quiet rule change could signal “the end of independent financial regulators” just as the SEC prepares to deregulate crypto, mega-IPOs, and corporate governance.

It's not. Fucking keep going.

Latest example of "You Can Just Do Stuff" governing taken to the extreme. The judge can't physically enforce his or her own ruling, the White House controls law enforcement and Congress won't impeach.
1) DHS asks a federal judge for a warrant to hoover up private data from journalists, activists, and trade unions.

2) Judge denies because it is an obvious violation of the 1st and 4th Amendments with no justification.

3) DHS issues its own "Administrative Warrant" and sucks up the data anyway.
Trump’s DHS is using an obscure law to secretly snoop on journalists, non-profits and unions: ‘It’s outrageous’
Even after judges rejected the same ploy, the Trump administration is going directly to social media and telecommunications companies

But in reality, logistical hurdles abound, & prisoners have organized hard for years to make sure everyone knows their rights.
