This is inhumane and unacceptable. And how were these workers thanked for enduring these conditions? Many were laid off.

This is why we're organizing. A better industry is both possible and must come to pass if our artform and dignity are to survive.

My favorite Mr. Beast moment was when he got punched in the stomach by Mike Tyson and for the briefest of moments, Jimmy Donaldson's lazy grin was replaced with an expression of animalistic fear. For an almost imperceptible window, there were no metricd or merch opportunities, only flesh and pain

I'll say it again: Reviews are the best way you can help a game you love (besides telling everyone you know about it!).

If you like/love a game, pop a review on their Steam page. It makes the devs day, provides feedback, enhances the search algorithm and tells new players what to look out for.
With regards to that last repost, reviews can mean a lot to smaller developers, so I'm gonna put out a little call to action. Everyone following me? DO THIS NOW! I'm asking for replies so more folks pick this up, and continue it. Please take this graphic and ask your followers to do the same!

Feel as though people will truly never understand his death.

He was killed for being an Indigenous Queer Man with a Transgender Partner.

Every single one of those signifiers on axis/intersections/marginalizations is extremely important, but it is in tandem all at once not just because he “Gay”.
We lost Jonathan Joss exactly One Year ago today. A neighbor burned his house, killed his dogs and shot him in the street for being Gay.

Never forget Jonathan Joss. #KingOfTheHill #JohnRedcorn

The comparison I heard was data centers using the same amount of water as golf courses, and for that I was all, my brother in Christ, let me tell you what I think we should do with golf courses
But didn't you hear? Chatbots that steal actual writers' work only use the same amount of water as huge tracts of farmland. And since obviously we can't assess which one provides more to human wellbeing we can't be against data centers unless we're against farms too.

This is an impossible conversation because OF COURSE most games "use AI", games have been using AI since they were invented. Nobody has a problem with machine learning or artificial intelligence in and of itself. What we hate is slop. It serves Google/OpenAI etc to conflate and flatten these things

Once upon a time, when film editing moved to computers, Final Cut Pro on a Mac was a revolution in inexpensive professional post production.

And the user interface was super simple. Anyone could learn it.

So a lot of producers decided they don’t need a professional editor.

So apparently Seven Seas had a panel at CitrusCon earlier today, where the reps talked about how proud they were to be independently owned... and then literally an hour after the panel ended the Media Go purchase news went live.

hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.
