Had a hectic start of the year and haven't really been working on my book in a few months, BUT the short story I wrote around Christmas time is getting purchased! More details to come soon! 😁

Decided to try doing some copywork for the first time! Please excuse my rusty cursive! Can you name the classic novel this is from? (Hint it’s totally given away in the text lol)

“The screams were too big to come out.”

This is why Stephen King is the master. Need to describe a scream? Don’t say it’s loud, or ear piercing, or gut wrenching. Say it’s too big to even come out.

How do you like to describe horrified facial expressions? Here’s a snippet from Sai King’s “It”:

“And now the look of almost holy solemnity began to transform itself into something else. The huge eyes began to bulge. Her mouth pulled back into a dreadful grin of horror. She wanted to scream... 1/2

I have so many new books in my TBR, but Welcome to Derry has me feeling a certain kind of way, so it’s time to start an epic comfort reread

I’ve read quite a few @sgj.bsky.social joints at this point and I’ve loved them all, but this one feels like something extra special, like it’s one of the great novels that will still be talked about in 50 or 100 years. Maybe his masterpiece? 5/5 highly recommend

Took Friday and the weekend off but got another 1,000 words today! I'm hoping to have this rough draft done by thanksgiving. What are y'all working on?

Started a new rough draft this morning for the first time in ages…I feel like I’ve been here before. Do you think this will be the time it finally sticks and becomes a routine? Only time will tell

My new short story will be a tribute to David Lynch. So far it's just a few hundred word "doodle" but I am already feeling a connection to this story that I haven't felt in years. Small excerpt in the reply 1/2

What novel am i reading?

"Interesting that we can go on like this forever, that even when we don't drink, don't surrender to the luscious and fatal pleasure, we go on. Interesting that is, if each beat of the heart wasn't such agony."

My favorite thing to see on Facebook is "I left Twitter and joined Bluesky!"

Now I just need to start using this platform more. Probably need to get back into writing regularly first though 😬

How do y'all break out of a writing funk?

I have no desire to watch an old incoherent rapist past his prime dance around like he's still relevant.

But enough about the incoming president, I also didn't watch the fight.

The only "Anti-Political" stance is a Humanist one. If you're abstaining from the system because it doesn't benefit you, that's a politically-motivated decision. A truly Anti-Political action is casting your vote for someone else's benefit, because it's the right thing to do.

Need to start using this platform more. Has it been picking up traction? Is it feeling like a viable replacement for Twitter?
