Turns out it wasn't Windows Update messing with my drivers causing my GPU temps to spike; the thermal paste had not only dried out, it was the thinnest application of "pre-installed" paste I'd ever seen.
Took the brave plunge, took my 3060 apart & reapplied. Temps are 20-30c lower & holding! :D

Never let Windows Update blindly install a new graphics driver. Happened a couple of weeks ago - turns out, it disabled my fans and my card was hitting 90c while gaming without my knowing.
Always use DDU when installing new drivers, and keep an eye on Windows Update.

No, Shearer. They *weren't* the better team, they just had the better manager. 3rd division mentality, score one then sit back and chuck a load of defenders on, when we've had Kane and Bellingham scaring teams all tournament. Mindlessly amateurish and so utterly frustrating to witness.
