Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party.

But the movement in the culture wasn’t entirely independent - there was real overreach on this issue that brought about the backlash.

It seems like it might not be a coincidence that this was released just two days after the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that Americans lack standing to seek a Court injunction to prevent the Trump Administration from doing illegal things.

There are going to be Democrats who say we shouldn’t rip it all out — it’s already built, we have other priorities — but removing the visible signs of Trumpism is absolutely necessary.
The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.

Generalizing from one product to all would aim at something like the market discipline I've been posting about.
A personalist regime must never do this. Deals that enrich in particular, while holding back opportunity more generally, are how personalists keep their clients loyal.

The President has decided that in order to make ground beef cheaper, he will cut tariffs on ground beef. And I'm wondering if he could generalize from this one product to other products, and perhaps concede that tariffs raise prices on American consumers.

It may be underrated the degree to which China might have the ability to sway the upcoming election if it were to tighten the screws on the oil market as an October Surprise.
China has unique options to steer global petroleum mrkts. If starts buying more crude it could put pressure on oil prices but could soften if the U.S. is successful w/ helping shipments thru the Strait. Then China’s refiners could ramp up and send put pressure on global oil refiners & ease cracks.
