Excellent, informative piece by @faineg.com. Explains the overlap between AI Safety, Rationalism, and Effective Altruism communities, and how they're all getting high huffing each others' farts.

These people should not be in charge of anything.
Imagine if instead of regulating drone risks the normal way (which we did), we instead paid weird bloggers lots of money to worry about superintelligent dogs sprouting thumbs and using drones to kill us.

This is pretty much how the US is approaching AI risks and regulations.
