Do you run self-hosting server-type programs on your home network (stuff like Jellyfin), and what do you run?

Of course downloading pre-processed shaders, or "Shader Melding", is frowned on by the Vulkan High Command.

How many phones or call systems use a red icon of a phone placed down on something to represent ending the call, even though that's based on hanging up and almost nobody uses phones where that's a thing? The context is useful for understanding what a thing does, it's not mandatory. It's cool lore.

Anakin, reading guide: "I needed to do WHAT 40 hours ago???"
Yoda: "Hmm, yes. Chimney you must go down."
Anakin: "WHY?"
Yoda: "Old man inside has skills, you must learn."
Anakin: "HOW WOULD I KNOW THAT?"
Yoda: "Talk to townsfolk, you should have."
Anakin: "..."
Yoda: "Good Link impression, that is."

Yeah, it'd be nice if the system didn't seem quite so totally dependent on their servers.

Wild that some people see a video that's like "the game series with two games about the boy monkey teaming up with another heroic monkey to save everyone and then a game that frames that as the girl monkey baby-sitting the baby monkey might be saying something about gender?" and go totally ape-shit.

Reading this, he *definitely* thinks Anita Sarkeesian's one of them.

... I'm also just now realizing that this might be a joke and the correct answer is "if it's a photo of Grace Jones and it's .jpg, it's good (because they're all good)"? Oh dearie, have I spent the last ten-fifteen minutes not hearing a roaring *whoosh* going over my head? XD)
July 25, 2026 at 4:47 AM
(joking aside, I feel like I've probably seen a photo that was really good of Grace Jones, but 1) I feel like there's a LOT of competition there, no clue which one you mean and 2) JPG is an absurdly unfortunate name for a photography place to have had, ...
July 25, 2026 at 4:47 AM
... I'm not saying that *I* don't know what photo you mean. Of course I do, we all know it! But, someone might not know *which* GJ photo, and searching "Grace Jones JPG" didn't narrow the-- I mean. A-as a reminder of how cool that photo is. Could you post it anyway, please? As a reminder. Thanks!

Oooo, I hadn't seen this story! I did have fun reading everything, thank you, this is a ton of fun so far. I'm really excited to read more!

Plus, if it's really hot or cold out, you're in that weather, they're almost certainly using an AC/heater. Hot with no shade near the crosswalk? They might have to deal with it, you definitely do. A closed crosswalk might require you to cross a single intersection 3 times. They should have to wait.

not entirely sure if this hits what you're looking for, but Savin has some campaigns here that probably qualify? www.youtube.com/@Savinmander...

Next book, corporate adds the demand that it be able to generate music and have the music also be magic.

*Easy* agree. Rhapsodyz has apologized to the band and given Vancent a synthesized voice backed by the powerful tech of an AI agent, like popular series Knight Rider! Remember, readers, not everyone can do literal magic, but with an AI at your back, what's the difference!

Oh dear! I haven't updated/frankly used it in a number of years, so I can't say nothing stupid's happened in the intervening time, but there's a program called Recuva I used. I hope you can get it back!

Ehhh, it can't be that good. "Gaea's Communal Cradle" sounds like a bad youtube channel, so the card must be the same.

Just a wild thing to write an article about how people keep wanting to vote for him after he cheated on his wife, and only casually allude to his tattoo as him being "tatted up." I am being discriminated against because of my tattoo! What tattoo? Oh. *heh* You know the one.

On the other hand, it is pride month. Perhaps he's trying to say that democratic leadership only endorses candidates who have gotten nullification surgery?

OWCH! That was clearly a joke! Who threw that at me?

For those who don't know what Scuttling Death looks like, here is a card image (apologies if the alt-text is too long, I made this image for a small joke and then got *completely* carried away with the alt-text describing the genuinely stunning and grotesque Thomas M. Baxa artwork)

According to scholars, Magic: The Gathering was an ancient american card game played with powerful Garfield cards. Strangely, despite finding ~15 cards, they were known as "The Power Nine". Despite efforts to learn more about the game, possibly made by Garfield, little survives to the present day.
