Before anyone brings up civics class: it still exists, students still sleep through it, and these are virtually the same figures as for older generations.

I see the post from Tom Nichols saying that Gen Z Americans fail to correctly answer 6 of 7 basic civics questions.

I would like to challenge every single one of them.

Happy 250th Birthday, America.

This country is good and great but it is not perfect; we have our orange president for God's sake.

That being said, I'll have hope for America and for the midterms!

The New York Knicks are officially the NBA Champions, the firs time that New York sports team won the championship since 1973.

53 years! The long work here is done!

Happy Kickoff to Summer Day!

Saying this because Memorial Day is a national holiday where you should never say Happy Memorial Day as it is a disrespect to our soldiers who died while serving this country.

I saved this ironically to point that this post is AI slop.

I read the Trump's latest longest paragraph rambling and to I say, my mouth is tiring me with my pronunciation. That being said, when Trump tweets in long paragraph, that is a sign that he is not alright.
And by he, I mean the President of the United States, Donald John Trump; 45-47th "president".

Sure it was overshadowed by bad news but at least this mission is a re ason to keep NASA and fund it more instead of funding cuts

The only good news that comes out of yesterday is the Artemis II space mission. That 's it. Four commanders (1 black, 1 woman, 1 American, and 1 Canadian) splashed down with a parachute after nearly 10 days of this mission.
This is what makes me happy! :D

Just announced: The Seahawks won!
It turns out that Patriots didn't stand the chance against Seattle.
I'd like to welcome our new Seahawks overlord.

Now that TikTok is now sold to a U.S. company, thank god I deleted TikTok before the sale. I'll never miss this app again. Back to normalcy, long form content and more normal time; just like humans used to do.

The US running Venezuela was not on my 2026 bingo card.
Not even three days from 2026 and we're already having crazy shit on our timeline.
I think it's time for a drinking game (alcohol or otherwise)

`I'll miss John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois on CBS Evening News, at least the two were better than Tony Dokoupil taking that spot at 6:30pm.
He was better if he stayed in CBS Mornings, not this one.
January 3, 2026 at 7:19 AM
What would it be better? If the OTA station airs independent journalists as a counterprogram to CBS Evening News with so called "journalist" Tony Dokoupil. I was thinking of a station... (WRNN-TV; after all they got Richard French Live (6-7am) with the best of progressive hosts.
This is a scenario
January 3, 2026 at 7:16 AM
Tony Dokoupil abandons his undershirt and become the Jim Jordan of News. Focusing on the average American, instead of experts was a bad idea for CBS. They should know better if it wasn't for Bari Weiss being the CEO.
I truly cannot wait for these incredibly stupid people to find out what happens when you try to wave the flag harder than Fox News
January 3, 2026 at 7:13 AM
Looking what what is going on with CBS Evening News? It's Tony Dokoupil taking over as the host of it claiming that the format needs to focus on "the average American", however CBS is now OTA Version of Fox News (OTA = Over The Air).
CBS is now unwatchable, and it is part of the MAGA media

Incredibly brave. Imagine the faceless bores the BBC will have making their programmes if they continue down this path.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

‘Reforming’ or leaving the ECHR…A raising of false expectations, based on populist dishonesty.
A demonisation of immigrants to mask the failures of government.
Lies about sovereignty.
A cynical refusal by politicians and media to tell us the truth.
So very Brexit.

Now I believed that Zohran Mamdanj would win the mayoral race. Turns out I was right.

With 50.4% of the vote, Zohran is now a mayor elect of New York City.
I thought it would end close but it ended up being a happy ending.

Andrew Cuomo couldn't even defeat Zohran, even with attack ads.

Day 23 of The Government Shutdown
SNAP Benefits are about to be lapsed and around 42 million people will suffer from it.
It would expire in one week.
If this goes on, then I have to be independent, fend for myself or have to go to a food bank just to eat food.
