Alysa Liu is someone I’ve been thinking of a lot. She’s the same age as my oldest (5 days older technically), came from the same area, and carries the exact same energy.

She represents the best of CA Gen Z culture: caring, kind, and focused on joy instead of achievement.

I just finished @cstross.bsky.social ‘s latest Laundry Files and well, that’s a master class on how you end a very long running character driven series.

You leave the audience with a “sha-na-na-na life goes on.”

Thinking about how Nixon was impeached for trying to gather intel using state assets on the democrats before an election.

How far we’ve come.

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

I’m seeing a lot of “I told ya so” online discourse.

It’s important to remember that a shared struggle brings people together, but “I told ya so” only drives people apart.

Focus on the present and the future, not the past.

Me: “your sister thinks I have great taste in music, why don’t you?”

Kid: “dad, there is so much screaming.”

Me, just now listening to a playlist: “maybe they have a point.”
