You asked so many questions It made my head spin And my heart twinge Because of the effort you were putting in. "What's your name?

She laid there and stared, taking in the world around her. She stared at the paintings hanging on the white walls. She stared at the television and the consoles and controllers. She stared at the dust-covered shelves and the bottles of liquor and the loose cables. She stared at the miniature chess set on the miniature fridge in the corner. She stared at the ottoman that tripled as storage and a coffee table.

It was square, with no partitions or bracings. The window hovered ahead without the help of a wall, and a dim light spilled through the glass, a dusty bone-white glow that fell off the bottom of the window like a waterfall at the edge of the world. I had expected the light to stretch on for eternity, but the emptiness swallowed the rays. Captured them. Snuffed them out.

If I were to master any skill, it would be to learn any language. I moved away from home for the first time to live with a man in Ohio that I met online. Said man got me pregnant with my first child, and I recall being pregnant on my 21st birthday, staring longingly at the Patron from across the restaurant.

For as long as Deidre could remember, she had always been cursed with the talent of wandering. Perhaps she first noticed it at the age of four, when she opened her bedroom door in the middle of the night and, instead of finding herself in the upstairs hallway of her childhood home, she found herself in the kitchen downstairs. She distinctly recalled opening the door to the back patio at five and, in place of the lush backyard with the jungle gym her father built for her, she was across the way in the neighbor’s kiddie pool.

Sweat dripped from every pore, though it did little to wash the filth caked onto my skin. I backed away from the horde, my eyes darting between the dead-heads. Hello friends, and welcome back to my blog! It has been awhile since I have posted anything of note, so I wanted to provide an update as to the content I am currently creating. Two weeks ago, I began recording and uploading videos of myself playing videogames to YouTube—mainly, the game Pokémon Yellow. My goal this year isn't to lose weight or get published, but instead to play through as many of the Pokémon games as possible.
