Seeing a lots of obvious bad takes on animation, especially indie animation, to gin up "debate" that reads more like angry hornets nest stirrings. The impact will be less indie animation from anybody and less interesting animation coming out period.

Word of mouth is basically the only way small team projects can gain any traction. People hate ads with a passion, and ignore creators when they pitch their own work. But people will give something a chance when a person they know says they like something

Rest in peace, Akihiro Miwa, the original Moro in Studio Ghibli's Mononoke Hime, died aged 91. Miwa was a Nagasaki bombing survivor, singer-songwriter, actor and author, who made his debut singing in a Ginza cafe aged 16 and went on working even after a stroke in 2019.
