I had a great time hosting Bolt Action demos at the American Heritage Museum this weekend! It was their Pacific War Reenactment Event with plenty of fun volunteers and the replica Zero used in "Tora! Tora! Tora!"
Hope I can do more stuff with them in the future!

(American) football is such a strange thing. It's got a ridiculously long rule book, every team has a bureaucracy of specialized coaches and coordinators and it culminates in the simple, basic action of "large man tackles other large man for the ball"

Watched a video recently on how the Caribbean was practically a death sentence as a military post.
I'd love to write a homebrew Guard regiment that ended up on some horrible grimdark equivalent to the Bahamas. With all the wrong equipment of course.

I could probably get a more colorful and vibrant version of the Odyssey by watching some reenactors fight in a field for 90 minutes than Christopher Nolans 250 million project.
These "auteur" directors/producers are leading us to a world where even our fantasies and myth are desaturated and plain.

Reading about French rule in India, it's very funny that the Jesuits demand all the Hindu temples get destroyed, all the Indians in the city leave into the countryside and the colony collapses in 2 days.
Even funnier that it happened once every 9 years or so!
