On the subject of pathetically lenient punishments I did a thread the other day on pedestrians who've been killed in the last couple of weeks and came across this almost unbelievable sentence for killing someone in a hit and run while drunk and uninsured:
And finally, a conviction. On the 3rd September a driver was convicted of driving whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohol, and driving without insurance. He killed 19 year old Bailey Chadwick, and fled the scene. He was banned from driving for 20 months with no custodial sentence.
