Ian Dunt put it better than I could. "Feel a lot of pride about the way Britain has responded to Trump's attacks on Ukraine, repeatedly launching big symbolic demonstrations of solidarity when things are at their most tenuous."

The Social Reckoning is really good. Some people say “we knew this stuff already” but I think that assumes most people read the WSJ & understand algorithms.
I was surprised by how much I didn’t know about Facebook’s algorithms and how they affect us. I definitely recommend it

I understand that it's politically challenging to give a grant to better off households, but you need people who can afford it to buy heat pumps when they're more expensive to stimulate the market so the cost will come down and they can be affordable for everyone.
At some point Labour and its supporters are going to come unstuck with the constant messaging that, above a certain income level, you should expect nothing from the state apart from an invoice.

The standard argument is if you tax the rich they’ll leave the country and make the place poorer. On the other hand, if you don’t tax them and they stay, they pull this shit, making the country *much* poorer in so many ways.

This discussion gets tangled up in "Is Russia the reason Leave won", but that's not the important bit. The important thing is they tried. And we cannot let countries keep trying to influence our elections until they find a way to succeed.
Vladimir Putin wants a divided Europe to weaken us.

We cannot let him win.

For the sake of our own security, we need to rejoin the EU.

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

It’s a completely reasonable thing to make these illegal until the companies can prove they cannot be used in a pervy way. (And only by prescription for those who are sight impaired)
No matter how bad you're imagining this is, I guarantee it's worse -- explicitly being sold to record sex without consent

3 years since Oct. 7. Count me among those who were appalled by the atrocity and appalled knowing atrocity would follow.

Made things worse for just about everyone, except a few awful people who exploited it, and has left so many innocent people dead or suffering.

I wish none of this had happened.

I've thought the Tories would go after IHT for a while - it's an obvious political choice given the voters they're targeting. But this is about the worse way to do it as it further gums up the housing market.

Really seems like Maine Dems could benefit from using a version of the 2008 message for voters who liked the maverick McCain:

“She’s a decent person. It made sense for you to back her in the past. But it’s not good enough now. She enables Trump when it matters—and none of us can afford that.”

It's very early but I really hope this promising research turns out to make a real difference
Just THREE MINUTES a day of low-intensity ultrasound aimed at the hippocampus improved cognition in two areas in Alzheimer's patients within 26 days, with no adverse effects. One paper even found the cortex grew back.

Separately, in cells, ELF-EMF treatment kept damaged cells
This Cheap, Tiny Device May Reverse Memory Loss—And Even Prevent Alzheimer’s, Scientists Say
Studies indicate that a simple treatment could halt a leading cause of death for millions of people.

A common theme that drives me absolutely wild with elections/polling these days:

1. Right wing wrecks everything
2. Left of centre figure elected
3. Left of centre can’t fix all the damage in 5 seconds so the right wing, who have got 10x worse in the meantime, lead polls again/win next election
hard not to despair at the state of the world!!! if I had to pick between nice-but-flawed Lula and The Failson Of The Worst Man Bolsonaro I would find it easy! how do these decisions keep being a toss-up! they should not be a toss-up! ahhhh!
The thing I don't like is that Lula only has a narrow lead for first round, when he won it by five points in 2022. And I'm wondering if that many votes have likely shifted that that's still enough to win the second round if he only won that by ~2 in 2026. Flavio Bolsonaro win looks v possible

I effing despise RFK Jr. I had a cancer caused by HPV that had a massive impact on my life. I would have loved to have a vaccine that could have prevented all of that and whatnot.

Yet that fool has claimed that HPV vaccines themselves cause cancer and he’s making bank on that lie and others.
I see some folks asking: what motivates RFK Jr to tell such horrific, dangerous, repulsive lies about the HPV vaccine?

Well, he has made $856,559 from suing the HPV vaccine maker (his vaccine adviser, Dr Kulldorff, also got rich the same way)

Always follow the 🤑!
