I run on this timeline in order to solve the issue of conflicting dates given in bg3 vs other materials, by making this durge be set on a timer to be 'born' in time to reach adulthood before Bhaal is supposed to return as a quasi-deity.

This is I suspect because aasimar is a 'humanoid' player race in 5e, but I'm thinking strictly in terms of lore rather than game balance. My specific durge was generated by Bhaal at the time he was killed by Cyric, when (if I understand correctly) Bhaal was both mortal and a full god

On a not horny note this would be a really funny way for Gale to learn Durge isn't technically a humanoid and is 100% god-flesh. Never mind the sex they were about to have, he just got handed a puzzle to solve
