The most infuriating thing about this is that his entire campaign was him saying “this time I’m going to be so much worse, you fuckers have no idea how shitty I’m gonna be”

Artists: this is your regularly shceduled reminder that if your need to Grow Your Following outweighs your need to Improve Your Craft, you have lost the plot and need to reorient yourself. Soc Med is not real life, it is a tool to support your goals.

Bibi's stuff is so cute and high quality. I have a few strawberry pieces, including the cane, and I love them all.
It costs 0$ to Repost a Black disabled queer small business! It could lead to my next sale.
Here's new patterns for my carbon fiber foldable walking sticks!! Each pattern needs to sell at least 50 each to make them a reality!! Or else I'll have to refund them. Please support!

Brendan Glesson is 71.
Colin Farrell, newly sober, on first meeting Gleeson:
‘He said ‘willya have a drink?’ & opened his hotel fridge ‘I’ve still or sparkling’.
In that moment, I fell in love with him as he had gone out & bought them. I thought ‘that’s a fella who’ll look after you’

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Today is World Basketball Day.
On this day in 1891, the first game of basketball, based on the rules created by Canadian James Naismith, was played. He based the new sport on games he played as a youth in Canada, including duck on a rock. By 1936, it was an Olympic sport.

Very sad news and good thread from @astroroyalscot.bsky.social on Yannick’s legacy. 🔭
On this darkest solstice day of the year, my heart has dimmed, waking up to learn of the loss of dear colleague and mentor, Yannick Mellier. Yannick will be known to most as the lead of the amazing Euclid Space Telescope which will revolutionise our understanding of the Dark Universe 🧵🔭
![This square astronomical image shows thousands of galaxies across the black expanse of space. The closest thousand or so galaxies belong to the Perseus Cluster. The most prominent members of the cluster are visible in the centre of the image and appear as large galaxies with haloes around them in yellow/white, comparable to streetlamps in a foggy night. The background of this image is scattered with a hundred thousand more distant galaxies of different shapes, ranging in colour from white to yellow to red. Most galaxies are so far away they appear as single points of light. The more distant a galaxy is, the redder it appears.]

im thinking about the parental estrangement forums and shit and it feels like such a natural thing to come from a culture that doesn't see children as full human beings with agency, to extend the status of problem child past the age of majority and allow publishing and media to be complicit in abuse
