The "we're a diverse company, Susan from accounting is a goth" thing doesn't even hit as a meme for me. I've done corporate IT, and many sites WILL in fact cite the fact that they don't make the desk jockeys remove their nasal piercings during work hours as proof of their commitment to diversity.
