I long for a boring presidential administration.

OK, there it is. His dementia brain just admitted it. This was fully 100% in the context of his own personal health.

The press needs to corner him and his team on this. But they won't. Because they're no longer journalists.

I'd be OK fighting a holy war on behalf of the libraries.
Jesus Christ: after a recent ruling by the Eighth Circuit that allowed Act 372 to take effect, an Arkansas county has banned all children from checking out any books in the adult section, bringing home any DVDs, or using the self-checkout kiosk in its public libraries.

And the MSM, in one of the most egregious failures in journalism history, continues to ignore his descent into madness and pretends demented shit like this is normal presidential behavior.

There is one reason and one reason only than anyone might get measles

(Hint: it’s measles, when the percentage of the population that is vaccinated drops below 95%. It’s just math.)

Reposting because I love them.
I'd missed that they discontinued This is Sportscenter ads last year, but it's hard to imagine anyone at the network being willing to do this any more www.youtube.com/watch?v=99z_...

I’m surprised that many folks are still unaware that I produce a podcast about unsolved mysteries. My first episode aired 18 months ago — I now have 72 under my belt! 🎙️

Please check out my latest episode, before the next one drops on Tuesday. It revisits one of Chicago's greatest murder mysteries.🔎

I think it's time to drop this @acitrano.bsky.social description again:

"It's almost impossible to believe he exists. It's as if we took everything that was bad about America, scraped it up off the floor, wrapped it all up in an old hot dog skin, and then taught it to make noises with its face."

The story is still evolving but this is the 1 year old killed. In my area, police aren’t supposed to shoot at cars. They are to get tag info & go later. To de-escalate. That’s ICE written policy also. They appear to be unaware.

The "hydration break" really is a perfect American capitalist innovation: a nakedly commercial play to insert more ad revenue into a game that doesn't have ads anywhere else in the world, all under the guise of some humanitarian interest in the players' wellbeing.

What does a trillion dollars look like?

We simply aren't wired for scale, and I think it's important to understand. So here are some visuals I put together to help out.

Here's a 6' dude standing next to a stack of 620 $100 bills. That's $62,000—the estimated median income of an American in 2025.

Not once have you ever heard Mike Johnson, Donald Trump or any other MAGA Republican talk about billionaires paying their fair share

It's always taking something away from you and me

In this case, stealing our funds from Social Security and Medicare that we worked for and paid into our whole lives
Mike Johnson says Republicans want to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, calling them “entitlements” that need to be fixed. Of course, they plan to do it after next year’s midterm elections.

There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man."

A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life.

Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.

Waiting in line at the DMV is a universal headache. In Ep. 2 of “Paper Trail,” reporters uncover a towing company’s scheme to cut the line in Connecticut — then sell the cars they’ve towed to a DMV employee.

How to Lose a Car in 15 Days
When two local reporters heard drivers were having their cars towed and then sold in as little as two weeks, they teamed up with ProPublica to investigate.

My wife lost her mother exactly two months ago

Three more friends have watched their mothers pass away this year

Until this year hadn’t truly realized how hard Mother’s Day could sometimes be

Cherish every moment you spend with your loved ones. Because they’re always more fleeting than you expect
“I’m realizing that a sort of gooey sitcom resolution is not in the cards for my mother and me. Sometimes the people we most need to love us stubbornly refuse to give us what we need. Sometimes we run out of time to fix everything.”
