I think there's some historical revisionism about how directly the OG tackles fossil fuels and climate change as a theme (it's much more about the perils of nuclear energy and bioengineering) but imo all the more reason to be addressing it in Remake

If you can't see how Cloud reflects many of FF7's core themes and get upset when someone says the game isn't solely about environmentalism and rebellion, then either you didn't get past Midgar or weren't paying attention to begin with.
