I must ask for all who visit my page not to be put off by any reposts of Climate Change. I simply worry for the sake of nature and wildlife and try to avoid the topic when possible. I just care deeply for something that needs a voice - mine and many more. 😊🍃🌳🍃🌻🐝🦋🪶🐾🌍🌊

🚨 The #Arctic saw its hottest June on record for the month! The region's 10 warmest Junes have all been observed since 2012, with most of this warming trend coming from over northern land areas.

Fuel on the fire

As the world swelters in ever more dangerous heat, why are oil companies being allowed to turn up the gas instead of paying for the consequences of their greed?

My column on Big Oil’s mad, bad plan to increase production.

Fuel on the fire: why oil companies are profiting as the world gets dangerously hot
The scientific consensus is that burning fossil fuels drives the climate crisis, yet the world’s biggest oil companies are planning to increase production

We hear from people in the UK, where “smokeless” “clean” coal is allowed to be burned even in Smoke Control Areas.
Trump’s new ‘Coalie’ mascot and myth of ‘clean, beautiful coal’ have a long history in advertising
Ads from the 19th and 20th centuries shows how the industry has long tried to promote coal as clean and even healthy, despite evidence to the contrary.

Over-mowing by many councils has started already. Dandelions, daisies, cuckooflower, clover - lifelines for pollinators - mown down to lifeless, 'tidy' grass deserts. Is your council taking positive action to restore at least 30% of nature, or is it lagging behind?

We fully support these MPs' and peers' calls to #AxeDrax.
They lie, they obfuscate, they hide evidence, then they lobby, they charm, they bully.

It's completely beyond me how authorities can continue to ignore this fundamental issue, especially given that we KNOW that with climate breakdown floods will only keep getting worse.

Pay farmers to rewild NOW.
If you're a victim of repeated flooding, you need to start looking at land use upstream.

One of these sponges up vast amounts of water, releasing it slowly, the other does not. One reduces flooding, the other *increases* it.

Without addressing this core driver, it'll just keep on getting worse.

It shouldn't have taken the govt over a year to listen to farmers' concerns. But there are still problems - and loopholes - with the APR policy. Govt should listen to and work with farmers to ensure a sustainable future for farming.

#LateNightWrite Unfortunately, I have had no progress this year. There's only been little changes made that no one will yet see for quite a long time.
I feel awful. Just that. Awful. It's not easy to describe how I feel about it. Ideas come by, but they don't stay. All but flying visits 😒
I wanted the last #LateNightWrite of the year to be a little more elaborate but I am once again not doing good this weekend. So we're gonna a do a "how was your writing year" free form prompt tonight and I'll be back with proper questions, at the right time, after the holidays!
