Yup, I'm well aware of second sleep, which is why I don't worry if I'm up for an hour or so in the middle of the night. This was more just "went to sleep waaaay too early and confused my brain about sleep schedules" than true second sleep.
I read this thing recently about how people used to wake up in the middle of the night for a couple hours and just relax. Someone researched it a bunch after they saw references to “second sleep” disappeared around two hundred years ago. Details are escaping me.

Re: Slush Fund. Are the J6 protestors who didn’t get arrested just out of luck? Or can they pro-actively confess to crimes in the absence of an arrest? Or is it sufficient merely to prove they were present and “damaged” by law enforcement’s response?

Rules of engagement are not "dumb and politically correct." They're a line in the sand that defines minimal standards of decency during armed conflict. It helps if both sides understand what is meant by "decency."
