I really enjoyed yesterday’s filmmaking masterclass by Prano Bailey-Bond. It’s not only encouraged me to carry on writing, but made me want to direct again (maybe one of my short horror scripts!). Thanks to LMF for putting on the event, and to @pranobaileybond.bsky.social for being so inspiring!

Finally got to see NO OTHER CHOICE! A dark yet very funny film featuring Park Chan-wook’s usual inventive direction and a stunning central performance from Lee Byung-hun, who’s able to be hilarious and bumbling one minute and then heartbreaking the next. Already my film of the year.

I’m so upset to hear that James Ransone has died. His performances in Generation Kill and The Wire are incredible, and he was literally perfect for the role of Eddie in IT: Chapter Two (him saying “please don’t be mad Bill, I got scared” always makes me cry). Such a terrible loss.
