Lots of people agog that a regular player wouldn't know en passant but I played Scrabble with someone who insisted you could make words diagonally and that was how they played.
I used to play chess with an older guy. One evening I pulled the obscure En Passant capture move. He was furious and claimed I was cheating. I left with him shouting. Next day his daughter phoned to say he had died in his sleep. I never told her I think I killed him with chess.

It was the packed lunches that did it, not the fact that one of them was an actuary.

This government is like when dog owners see their dog jumping up at you and ask it nicely to stop. It doesn't work but it gives the impression they're doing something and maybe it's not really their fault even though it obviously is their fault because they're supposed to be in charge of the dog.
