How to paint a very diluted lighter coat of colour starting and stopping at raised areas that need to be lighter. Using quick brush strokes.
The recessed parts of the mini still get a very faint layer of it so the colours blend nicely.
Bonus pic for explanation but use way LESS paint than shown!
A 3 steps picture. 1. A paintbrush loaded with a small amount of diluted paint hovers above a curved miniature surface labeled “MINI.” 2. The brush lightly touches a raised area, depositing a faint translucent layer while barely tinting the recessed parts. 3. The brush is quickly dragged across the raised surface in the direction of an arrow, creating a smooth gradient that starts stronger and fades out softly, leaving the shadows only lightly glazed for natural colour blending.

I got a nice master class from @mandy_mandible at my LGS.
3 hour session and a loot of new techniques that were not common in times of the Green Goblin bases!
