Admin took us to the Bronx zoo for PD. I just got to pet an alligator.

I love this school.

I literally came back to social media to complain about how ugly it is. All late; but it has to be said.
Nothing has been truly okay since Spotify changed their logo to a dark-sided disco ball.

We will never know or properly appreciate how many lives have been saved by librarians. The right book in the right hands at the right time. Astounding.

Central Park Zoo making for a pretty perfect Memorial Day outing. Still can’t recommend it over the Bronx Zoo but it is very pretty.

Bought this for my classroom and no one has picked it up. Luckily I also bought the graphic novel, which has been read.
Found this in a used bookstore yesterday. One of my very favorites from childhood, I must have read this books dozens of times. It feels like a good moment to revisit it.

And don’t miss Yellow House Books if you’re ever in the Berkshires. It’s filled with gems like this.

I was making soup last night and the recipe called for 5 potatoes cubed.
125 potatoes seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?

The early albums always make me happy. Michelle and Hard Days Night always hit.
i know this is a stale "over 30s" opinion, but honestly listening to Beatles tracks, and especially the 2nd half discography, has greatly improved my mental health over the last few years

i think this works for all things, so go back and find the good stuff... it helps with dealing with the present

On this day in 1898, Septima Poinsette Clark was born. She became a tireless advocate for education and civil rights. Martin Luther King, Jr., called her the “Mother of the Movement.” Her motto was “literacy means liberation.” #WeTheMen

I did my yoga at noon today, hoping that one day I will be a person who rises early enough that I can work out before going to work. Even though I leave for work at 6:45 am.

Even as I type this, it seems highly unlikely.

Brooklyn is amazing and so expensive, and I walk around that place like I am constantly looking at ghosts.

Hey, so ICE is still kidnapping and disappearing people in the United States.

Just because they got quieter about it doesn't make it okay.

Abolish ICE. Chinga la Migra.

Sticking to buying book art at bookcon because the markup on the actual books is wild and thats sad.
April 18, 2026 at 5:52 PM
Great advice. Would add: Wear comfy shoes and bring your patience.
To anybody attending book con I’m just going to give you advice:

1. Wear deodorant and shower

2. Bring water

3. Buy your books at a bookstore first so you won’t be overpriced buying books at the con itself

Every teacher lady in the city is at Bookcon today, lol. This is WILD.

One person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress beforehand, or our allies, or coherently explain to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers. Reminder that Congress has the power to stop this and refuses to act.

Got on metro north and someone acted like I was a different species because I was reading an actual, physical book. Sigh.
